[New Project] Underground Miners

Hi all,

I am working on a new project, an MMORPG.

There is one big, but very big problem: I have no engine.

So, I am learning to make games. Right now working with DirectPlay (Multi-player part of DirectX) (I suppose Glest is made in C++?)

The question is again, if I could get the source codes of Glest. If yes, would it cost money?.

If it gets popular, I could make money with it and you, the Glest developers get a good part of it :)

Some concepts:

Defenses against monsters (Like the rock monsters in LEGO Rock raiders):

if i was you i would use a FPS engine, it is more versatle than using the glest engine.

there is the quake engines, and maybe you could mod nexiuz... im not sure, but the thought of makin a mmorpg out of glest is...well..peculiar.

id recommend the quake 3 engine because the source is free and downloadable ( it was realeased)
and it supports multiplayer, and the graphics are good.

also i had tried to make an fps based on glest, it didnt turn out to well.
anyway good luck with the project.

if you want i could upload one of the engines ive downloaded?
that way you dont need  the stupid download keys, and the 1 hour wait.

 engine specs.

quake 2
multiplay
come in exe format, so no compiling needed


quake 3
comes in binary format
compiling needed

source engine ( used in half life 2)

im not sure of the specs.....

A free 3d engine I found on sourceforge unter "RPG" ´, a very good one.

it seems to be a bunch of projects made with the engine.
