well this is for the "vikings" or "norsemen" modification.
So i think its best if you wait for us to release the mod as you have a complete new faction then.
I think the size of this mod can be around 50-100 mb (just guessing), thats why i would seperate it as a additional download but you can decide that of your own. I would like to see it made fit to GAE.

According to license, i havent thought about really. I think gpl but you must ask titi too as he is main creator of norsemen.

But of course everyone feel free to change the modell and use it the way you like it. I dont care about ownership only the units should remain impressive when norsemen comes out.

If you have specific plans how to change the modell i can help you, just ask; although i havent much time as this all needs lots i wont forget you.

Hi all,
i changed the color of all units (spearman,swordman,archer,axeman).
So they look more glestlike because they are not lightened up.
Now i think about Baidas axeunit.

Do you think i should put it on a horse as it is a dwarf? He could throw the axe from up there or just reach down, ok that probably doesn't look convincing.

Titi, what do you think about it? And of course, Baida do you want me to do this with your model?

Aren't dwarves supposed to be terrible horsemen? ;) It's rather ridiculous having one ride a horse.

And btw, is my modification of the axeman in the mod?

Hi Baida!
Well actually titi has already finished your model for game and it remains on the floor... as an axethrower.
So units are nearly complete (what looks strange ingame can be edited again) and now we are working on sounds and balancing (ok most is done by titi).
Lets see when we can release something playable ;).

@Zaggy: we use a modified version of your texture, but the axeman was looking so strange that we  modified it again several times. I think now he is looking ok.

The next release is very near now. It's all fun to play now , the models are looking much better, we have backgroundmusic, some sounds, a new unit ....
But there are still missing some sounds and the balance with
tech/magic/indians/norsemen is still not really finished but ok.
I think I will ignore these problems and release a new version next weekend.

By the way, I still have the berserker version..

You might want to turn down the attack of the flying Valkyrie and thunderbirds. They're almost impossible to kill.

Hi Baida, no its never too late, if titi releases too fast then it will be in next release or we can make a "gimmick-upgrade": a little zip which brings your unit into game.
Just load it up to server or email ;)

The thunderbirds are impossible to kill ?
they are like normal dragons!
To kill them use:

tech:
use some archers /air defense /or a battlemachine and they are gone
indians:
Use archers/firearchers /totem
magic:
there are several possibilities but summoners don't live very long when attacked by an thunderbird...
norsemen:
you will see ;) valkyrie/archer/thor/mistle tree.

Okey Titi !!!

It's cool, I took a look at this, it's really better than the first release, quite normal anyway, but it's really cool !

So, Can I still finish that model !?

I really enjoy to take part in that kind of project, it's just I don't have a lot of spare time recently, I can finish that model this week !!
I'm in vacation even if I still have to work at home, So, I finish it for this week !?  :D
And if you have some others projects, feel free to ask me, I'll help as much as I can ! Hope to be more active too !!!

By the way, is there a command pannel or something else wich allow us to zoom on characters and etc... ?


PS: I pretty enjoy to see my character in game, it's neat, you integrated and animated that well !

you left out the most important soldiers of the Norsemen what about the Einherjar this is the most important soldier in the Valhalla (oh yeah its Valhalla no Walhalla).
The Einherjar are Odin's and Freyja's most important soldiers in the hall of Valhalla. This is just an idea and to correct some mistakes.

Well, good point.
I think I will include one in the next release. Probably I will rename another unit to einherjar, because otherwise there are too many units in the norsemen faction. I will think about it....
And sorry for the "walhalla"  :-[  it's the german word I will correct it too.

Gameboy made very nice new icons for the Norsemen.
I had some problems to recognize the building icons. What do you think? Are they ok?

OMG! Those icons...  Nice! I recognize the buildings completely, so don't worry about that. In fact, those icons are (in my opinion) possibly better the original glest icons.

Now I'm going to be begging gameboy to help with military's icons, since I admit that I have little patient for making icons myself.
