indians 1.0 released!
« on: 3 July 2007, 06:37:37 »
Faction indians is released now!

as usual downloads at:
http://http://www.titusgames.de

- new sounds
- new unit
- new balance
- more fun  :D

I hope this will be the final release now! My sonand I have worked a really long time to realize the new faction.
There were a lot of things to do for us
- 3d modelling was something completly new for us
- learning blender
- learning gimp
- learning python(for blender exports scripts)
- learning glest
- learning xml ( my sons )
- sound editing/ searching and recording

For me this meant about 500 hours of work in the first half of the year.

Thanks to weedkiller who helped me with blender problems and mainly created the spearman.

I hope you'll like it! Test it and tell me what you think

Hi, just managed to play the indians, had a hard week because of work.
The Spearman is very well retexturen, it gives much detail to the texture just by the colorbase and the face and hair are very good, too.
Seems like glest textures must not be to detailed but with many ideas ;)

:o awesome, really nice work.  it's good to see that mods keep glest alive.

i've got only one question: why is the attack of the beehive and totem normaly off? i've no idea why i should turn it off. so maybe you can change the default to "on".

@weedkiller: the firecamp has no effect at night, no glowing. i guess the engine don't support light effects except the day-night-cycle.

and btw i tested it on windows and had no problems.

i didn't played indians, but i suppose that is building for defence like defence tower and tower of souls. that attack is always off at begining, but it turn on automatically when he see an enemy. after that it switches to attack off. when it see an enemy, and start to attack, you probably can turn it off. it makes no sense, but that's how it works.

beehive: It's like andyglest said

Glowing:
The firecamp/the totem/the main tent are glowing in the dark!
But you have to set more light sources in the options of the game ( actual computer should have no problems with max 8 lightsources )

Are you sure? I think that if it's off it doesn't attack, and (if I remember correctly) one of the developers said that defensive buildings starts disabled because you may don't want it attacking if they see a unit since then that unit discovers it.
