Modifying .tga files in The Gimp
« on: 22 September 2007, 14:56:27 »
I modified a couple of .tga files and saved them. The first time I "saved as" .tga and selected both the options (start from lower left and the other I can't remember right now) and another time I simply saved the original, without any options. Both times I tried to load the game and it failed on me (crashed). Once I removed the modified .tga files, the game worked well as normal.

So my question is, how can I modify the .tga files (with gimp) and have them working in the game?

I found out what the problem was. I was saving the .tga with compression. Without compression, they work fine. You do have to check the "start from lower left" box, though.

Thanks for the information djezer.

I tried it for myself (saving without options) and it came up with "tilesets/forest/textures/water_001.tga: only uncompressed BW and RGB targa images are supported Segmentation fault" in the console. I replaced the texture with the original and it worked fine.
