There are tons of modelers around, somebody will probably get around to it eventually. The most important part is the texture for the model.
Um, the UV Unwrap thing is a piece of cake. I only know the 3DS Max way. With max, you select the model, select the "modify" tab on the right, select the "edit mesh" modifier, then u select the "Unwrap UVW" modifier.
Then to export the unwrapped uvw's, you need "Texporter", a plug-in that let's you export that. You can get it from
http://www.cuneytozdas.com/software/3dsmax/ Download the correct version, after it's installed, it will appear under the utilities tab on the right side of the screen. The 1st time you use it, you have to press the "more" button to find it, it's at the top of that tab.
After you select texporter, that area will open up and there are lots of options to experiment with. When you're ready, you press the button labeled as "Pick Object". Then click the object that has the unwrapped uvw's. Also, if you want, after you click "pick object" you can press "h" and select the model by name.
If you want easier access to texporter, you're gonna want to configure the menu. Select the "utilities" tab on the right, after you press that tab, look at the top-right of that section. Click the "Configure Button Sets" button and place texporter in that area.
