some small questions
« on: 5 February 2008, 17:05:52 »
Hi everybody, first of all I'd like to say I really like Glest  :) . After playing it a few times, I decided to 'mod' it. However I have a few questions...

1) How can you import your own models, and use them? How do you create your own techtree. How do you create your own tileset, etc. Everything I'd need to know how to adjust the game, I already found the map editor *cheer*

2) Is there a way to compile the game folder (and the modded files) back to 1 setup file. So that you can give the whole package to your friends, so they can enjoy it too? Or will they have to download every mod file separately?

Hi,

If you want to mod the game, the first thing to do is go to the Mods board and read the overview (http://www.glest.org/glest_board/viewtopic.php?t=3182), there is a lot of information there, the main resource is https://docs.megaglest.org.

The usual way to distribute a mod is using a zip file, with your new techtree packaged in there.

Any more questions just ask.

Regards.

Martiño.

The usual way... But I never liked the usual! heh   I noticed SST was an all-in-one installer, did he compile that himself?
