techtree

The problem I have is that I have somehow permantly messed up my magitech techtree.

When I got the game, I started playing it, then decided to try modding it (pretty much the whole reason, I downloaded in the first place -lol ). So I wasnt really sure what to do, but I went to the magitech tree and managed to copy an old faction, and make a new faction. So it worked good at first but then I messed some stuff up, and didnt really care so I deleted the faction.

But now the faction keeps appearing in my magitech tree. So if I try to play magic and tech it will instantly cause the game to crash.

If one of the techtree's part has bug, the whole techtree will crash, even if it isn't loaded. Try to make a new techtree, and check often, if there is a problem in it. (It used to work for me, even it took a lot of time.)

You should read better. he hasn't got just a bad techtree, he got a bad one that's regenerating itself.

But it is strange, I have never heard about necrotic files before.

Hmm, are you sure that you removed everything? both the installed game and the installation files? Check your homefolder, for additional files, empty your trash, reboot your system and then check if everything is still gone.

I have just tried deleting everything/ restarting my pc/ reinstalling again...
It worked fine the very first time I loaded it but after that everything came back again. Now all the test techtrees I made but deleted are there too.

WTF?
OK, which filesystem are you using?
Did you try installing in a different directory?, perhaps even a different partition.
