Animation Frame Rates

I was just wondering at what frame rate the animations play at in Glest. I downloaded the animated Max files and at 30 fps they go quite obviously too fast.

The speed of the animation depends on the speed of the command the animation is associated with, not in the number of frames of the animation, since Glest interpolates between frames when necessary.

Ahh, is this to do with the anim-speed bit in the skills section for a unit? How do these values work?
Also, is it ok to animate models differently to how it's been done with the released models?
