Hamachi?
« on: 18 February 2008, 17:05:15 »
Hi, I was trying to get the network play 'alive'... But nobody seems to remember the network password, so I can't forward the port. Now, a friend directed me to Hamachi, which he uses for age of empires.
After fooling around a while with that, is there some way to use hamachi to host the game, (or whatever it does).
So will I have to 'hack' my network, or is there some way to use Hamachi, or anything similar.

P.S.  I think I heard hamachi lets people onto your local network or something.

Hamachi creates a VPN between computers on the net so that they can see each other similar to a LAN.

I don't  see any reason why this is preferable to the current Direct Connection method! It is essentially the same thing (people still have to broadcast their IP's) but just has the added complexity of using Hamachi.

The problem WAS (found the password) I couldn't find my router's password, so I couldn't forward the essential port. But I found the pass now, port forwarding should work now.
