Japanese Translation problem

Dear Glest team

Thank you for opening a wonderful game to the public free of charge.
I like Glest very much.
To our regret, Glest is not famous in Japan.
Because it is not Japanese even if it recommends it to the friend, it seems to be difficult.

Then, there was a problem though Japanese Lang file was made. It garbles.
As you know, Japanese is multi byte character. Glest might not correspond to multi byte character though it is a guess.
It would be greatly appreciated when advice can be gotten if there is a method of settlement.

Thank you.

Hi,

I don't really know how we could fix that, does Japanese work with unicode? Maybe if you could send me an unicode (utf-16 or even better utf-8) lang file and a Japanese font  I could try to make it work.

Regards.

UTF-8 supports Japanese with these symbols:
2F00..2FDF; Kanji Radicals
3040..309F; Hiragana
30A0..30FF; Katakana

Hi

The Lang file was sent with mail.
It preserved it by UTF-8, unicode, and the ANSI format.

best regards.
