Problem with linux client - windows server
« on: 25 March 2008, 20:33:21 »
In my first multiplayer game all goes fine but at the middle of the game my glest shutdown with this error:

Exception: Can not find command type with id: 7 in unit: catapult. Game out of synch.

Thanks in advance,

Pedro

It is a known bug. At the moment it can only be avoided if every player has the same binary.

The glest advanced engine (stickied in mods) has some improvements and additionally a savegame function. but all players have to use that one as well.

Ok, but the sources are the same for each 3.1.2 version, aren't they?

Thanks,

Pedro

Yeah the source is the same, but unfortunately if you compile them on different systems, the end results tend to be slightly different.

Additionally Linux Mac and Windows tend to treat some details completely different.
