Need help playing online

 I need help playing online i am only 14 and do not know much about computers. Whenever i try to do join game i go to

Server Type: Previous
Server: Martino
Not connected

Then i click connect and nothing happens the screen just stays like it is.

Can anyone help me out?

 I also now did the icechat thing but in the big white box it just says

->> Attempting to connect to glest on port 6667
->> Socket Error: 11004 : Valid name, no data record requested type (Server)

1) When you are playing multiplayer, you have to have 2 - 4 people that know that they are about to play a game with you. This is why we use the irc. If icechat isn't working for u, use a program called Chatzilla, but you would need to have the Mozilla Firefox browser.

2) If you have two or more people that want to play a multiplayer game, one of you has to be the host. The host is the person who feed the data to the rest of the players. When you have your host, you type in the IP address into the game. Server "Martino" is only used when you're player with Martino (the game creator)

You need to connect to http://irc://irc.freenode.net. Then to get into the Glest channel, you type in /join glest.
