Texturing Problems

Hi, first of all, I've loved the game since I found it around six months ago.

I figured this was a great engine to continue modding on, but I've encountered a small problem. When I try to retexture a unit,  I do the following:

1. I open up texture_archer.tga...etc in gimp
2. I make the changes, adding in some red and white..etc
3. When I click save and run the game, I'm given the error that
"only uncompressed BW and RGB targa images are supported".

I'm not that skilled at gimp, so how exactly would I modify an image so that it doesn't modify the format?

And yes, I did save it as a Truevision TGA Image.

Edit:

Weird, I fixed it. I simply edited it and said save as Targa. This time it asked me if I wanted to replace it, I said yes, and a new window popped up asking me to tick if i wanted it compressed. I uncompressed it.

This is great, now I can retexture  :)

Yeah... It can't take RW (or whatever) compression. (Which can get annoying, because I don't have much disk space to spare...)
