New faction that i'm making

Hi, i've started with making a new faction like Strikershot
I've got some units ready and have a complete tech tree
however, I need some ideas on how will run...

 1. Does anybody know how to turn off day and night facility?

 2. How do I make the world a bit more brighter?

 3. I'm thinking of a Korean Version. (Iam Korean)

 4. Can somebody tell me a site which has a nice tutorial on UV unwrap...
    (I can't get this right!)

My game's theme is space wars...BTW
I'm a great fan of star/warcraft~^^

How do i make transparent material...
like glass or vapour or ice molecules...
(i want to use the glass for the helmets of a unit)

also, does anybody know how to turn the night and day thing off so that it is always bright?

Hi,

To make transparent objects just use 32 bit tga textures and use the alpha channel. I don't remember if the plugin exports 24 or 32 bit textures (tucho could answer this) but in any case you can replace them after exporting.

You can not disable day/night cycle, all you can do is to modify the day lenght by editing the DayLenght variable in glest.ini (lenght is in seconds).

You can put a low opacity in the texture of the helmet in photoshop and save the archive in tga format, but you can aply a diferent material in 3ds max with low opacity directly.

If you have all the textures of the model in a single archive and you use the second way, you can aply the same bitmap in the two materials (one material with low opacity for the helmet and one material with opacity=100% for the rest of the model) so that when you export the model you have a single texture too.
