« on: 19 June 2008, 08:24:31 »
Hey, why a master server is not on Glest ?

It would be really easy to use for the multiplayer

I'd say the main reason is because it would take quite a bit of time to setup and people are already doing other things, correct me if I'm wrong.

A master server would be pretty cool and might attract new players. Now, if only we could find a way to afford it and get it all set up...  :wicked:

Hi all, correct if I'm wrong: a master server is a server keep trak off all pubblic server right?

I was wondering if actualy it's possible to execute a dedicated server of glest without running the game.
Soon I'll have a LAN party with friend and I would like to use an "old" computer just like game server.

PS: compliment for this very nice game, actualy most complete RTS for linux with a very good internet site.
I look forward to the possibility of saving the game and restart it in a second moment.

I think saving exists in GAE or through a patch but a dedicated server does not.

A master server would be SWEET! I haven't done any multiplayer because I always get booted due to a lag or something, and there's very few ppl playing...
