I've been playing around with modding glest for a while, and going to start a new mod soon. But I was wondering if you could include GAE into the mod? With the upcoming glestimals, improved AI, etc. It's tempting to base a mod on these new features.

So are we allowed to do so, and later on (which I strongly doubt, heh) make a standalone game with it?

Edit: Just came up with an example, if I'm not mistaking GAE has a pet system? I was thinking of making a mod based on ancient Greece, with farmers. Which have olive plants as pets. :D Of course the mod wouldn't function without GAE coming with it...

I don't think there would be a problem with using GAE for mods but keep in mind that it might not be as stable as original Glest.

Heh, actually I was just asking the GAE team for permission to include GAE in mods. :)

Well, sorry I was out for a while and didn't get to respond to your question before.  Actually, you don't need our permission because it's all GPL, free as in "freedom" baby!!  This is software written for The People by The People.  The free software movement is the only truly working form of socialism that I know of, because it comes from each person that contributes it, not from a central authority like a government or corporation! :)
