Barbarian faction - Idea
« on: 28 June 2008, 01:01:42 »
It's just an idea.
I found out that there was an idea for a third faction: Church
And I thought maybe Barbarians would with that too...
Magic
Tech
Church - ?
Barbarians - No science, no gods, no magic, just rushing and killing.
?Alchemists? - Tech mixed with Magic

note: this is just an idea

Quote from: "Idanwin"
-Encampment (Castle, but weaker (wood)): Trains Slaves (Cheaper than worker)
-Training Camp (upgrade to: Drill Camp): Trains Spearmen, Axemen, Spearthrowers
-Drill Camp (trains faster then Training Camp): Trains Spearmen, Axemen, Spearthrowers, Bowmen, Swordsmen
-Farm: Produces Pigs and Cows
-Butchery: Allows you to slaughter your pigs/cows to get more food
-Smith: Researches Warhammer, Advanced Woodworking, Sword, Bow, Chain Mail.
-???:Trains Crusher/Mauler/Crusher and Mauler
-Workshop (needs woodworking): Produces Battering Ram

I've made some .xml files for them but they are still using the original Glest graphics. Could anyone tell me how to get more (which program, maybe a Mod from which I could borrow some images,...)
Also I read something about Alchimists, I think these fit into the Magic-Tech too...

Just a brainstorm:
-Encampment (Castle, but weaker (wood)): Trains Slaves (Cheaper then worker)
-Training Camp (upgrade to: Drill Camp): Trains Spearmen, Axemen, Bowmen (last one is very weak)
-Drill Camp (trains faster then Training Camp): same
-Farm: Trains Pigs and Cows [Trains? :O - @kukac@]
-Butchery: Allows you to slaughter your pigs/cows for fast food production (not fastfood)
-...

I also thought about a special unit: Mauler (uses club or hammer) or Crusher (same)

I'll post more ideas later...
I hope someone will use this...
please criticise my ideas (and tell me if my ideas aren't welcome)

you would need a chieftain for the barbarians, and maybe bog myrtle as an upgrade that increases attack strength but lowers attack speed. axe and spear throwers as more ranged units.

Brainstorm2:
-Encampment (Castle, but weaker (wood)): Trains Slaves (Cheaper then worker)
-Training Camp (upgrade to: Drill Camp): Trains Spearmen, Axemen, Spearthrowers
-Drill Camp (trains faster then Training Camp): Trains Spearmen, Axemen, Spearthrowers, Bowmen

-Smith: Researches Warhammer, Woodworking, ...
-???:Trains Crusher/Mauler/Crusher and Mauler

-...

The battering ram should be something like 4 units carrying a large wooden trunk.

I am an expert xml modder, so I can make a Church faction. What I need is Models (You WILL be credited) and, of course, ideas. Post them all either here, or in the designated topic in General Discussion!

I think I'm pretty good with ideas ... I've always been designing games, but never began making them...

Also I'll write ideas for the barbarian faction in the first message too...
