Blender/3DS Max 2009
« on: 25 July 2008, 18:47:42 »
Hi!
I'm new to glest and need your help making 3d-models for a mod (more information later):
I have Autodesk's 3D-Studio Max v9, the export script doesn't work for it (I read the thread) so I have to do with blender.
Fine, blender was installed without any problems, but the import/export Script doesn't work for me:
Import works fine, but i can't export .g3d models. No warnings or messages appears. I tried to save an imported g3d file, without any results - the script doesn't work.
I installed (and downloaded) Blender 3 times, also the script.

Thank you for any issues,
sorry for my bad english

/Michael

The wizard which lets you import g3d doesnt work for exporting... Anyways the imported g3ds need some work till they are ready for export again. Thats due missing boneinformation in g3d-format and other stuff.

Check out the wiki: To export to g3d from blender you need two things, the exportscript(which creates xml files) and gleempel whixh packes the ascii-xml into a binary g3d file.

Ok, allright - thank you !
One Question:
How to use glexemel ? The Wiki just describes the Linux-version... ?!

EDIT:

Ok, I used the gexemel_gui
( http://h1.ripway.com/herralien2/arch/gl ... UI_0.1.zip )
and it's working fine for me !

A texture.xml i made had been converted to a g3d, but if I try to open it an error occure:

With other g3d's I made with the gui there isn't any problem.
What could be a reason ?

Hi everybody, I’m interesting in learning 3d Designs and I think 3d studio max is the best. Is there any way to learn in this program for free from A to Z, coz I don't know anything about it. How Can I learn 3D Max for free?
