Cannot select anything, though mouse works fine (Linux)
« on: 10 August 2008, 23:12:01 »
Hi!

I have the following problem: Glest runs fine so far, but I cannot select anything with my mouse. I can move the mouse, draw the rectangle to select several units but they don't get selected. When I have selected a unit/building with the keyboard for example by pressing "i", I can perform the actions with it with the mouse.

I am using Fedora 9 on x86_64, the problem occurs with the versions 3.1.2, 3.1.1 and 3.0.0.

Any idea? Or is this a Fedora bug?

Thanks for the help!

I have the same problem on Ubuntu Intrepid. Can this be a problem of the graphics driver?

Okay, this seems to be really a problem of the opensource radeon driver. Filed a bug report there...

Is this in progress of being fixed yet?

I am also having the same problem (v3.1.2) in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10.

I also tried glest in WINE just to see if that worked, but the wine version has the same problem!

Also happened to me running the Ubuntu 8.10 version while using the open source video drivers. Activating the proprietary ATI/AMD drivers solved the problem and I could use better video settings without affecting performance.
