Is it the game or my driver?

Well When I first installed it I wasn't able to launch it until i downloaded somehting called PLay onLinux and when I could launch it the game seems fine but the screen keeps blinking is it my driver or is it something with the game?
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04

Which driver are you using? The closed source Ati one or the open source driver? You can find that out by typing

, then you see it under "OpenGL vendor string".

The closed source ati one? Have you installed it directly with the restricted hardware manager in Ubuntu? Well, that driver is usually really buggy and reporting a bug doesn't help improve anything. Just my personal experience.
