about glest v1.0
« on: 12 September 2004, 16:10:35 »
well, the 1.0 version i think isnt shipped too mutch new things but its a good basic now. all factions have own icons, music, buildings and thats all. no balance between magic and tech (again), no clickable resources.

so i've got a question:
glest will be a complete game or its just an exam-work?

if the first, must to contain more original ideas and more factions, units, ect. (doesnt matter if this things revolutionary new things :D ).

i like glest v1.0 ofcourse, but should be called v0.9 thats all.

[sorry for my english i boozed yesterday]

You cannot expect to much, because he is only one guy doing all the coding stuff. What he has done with that game is really good under this aspect.
So it gets right to call it version 1.0

Is it just me or isn't 1.0 even not published yet? I can't download it from the site but you talk about it like it was already downloadable. Well what ever but I think you are crazy :D

they are talking about why he said he would skip from V8.0 to V1.0 without going through V9.0

I think it is very good to post that now.
I found it as well, but there must be a reason, why Martin-o did not make it official. There is no Link on the website and also not officially in the forum . Maybe there is a bug found after uploading or something else. Okay, you maybe say  he was able put it down in this case, but  maybe there is another reason why he do not release it, right now.

Even though we have uploaded the version to the ftp, you should wait until we update the link to download it. We may still make some changes or bugfixes before releasing it, and the fact that people is downloading it would just create confusion between this and the final file, as in fact has already happened in the past. Therefore we ask that you respect our will and don´t download the file until we release it officially, which will happen very soon.

ps. Ayrin, I removed the link from your message. I hope you´ll understand it.

enveloop is right, the version you are downloading from there is not official, and we may even never release it since I have detected a small issue with shadows and there are also some translation strings missing.
