Something needs to be done about people advertising and placing pornography on the glest boards. I say you ban IPs. This is getting annoying seeing pornography and advertisments on the Glest Forums. (Why did they suddenly start appearing anyway?)

Many Glest players are underage, and showing pornography on these boards is ILLEGAL!

To get to the point, something must be done! :evil:  

ADDED// We need more moderators. According to the Usergroups, there is 2 moderators and only one (@Kukak@) is really active. (Titi is said to be a moderator, but for some reason is not recognized by the Userlists)
I say we open up the moderators group once more. (We should have about five modernators that are from different places in the world so that they can be on at different times)

Moderators can help reduce this spam that is filling up the boards!

Hi, I've been a guest for a while, but I recently been noticing those spam and porn posts.
I agree, we need more moderators. Why not you Omega?

An IP ban might not be possible, @Kukak@ said they couldn't do it.  I wonder if Glest Team members can ban IPs, if so, they have their work laid out for them. We just have to worry about worms and trojans that hijack ppls computers and do bad things.

2. When things like this were going last time, we deleted every post of the spambots, then Enveloop or someone else deleted the users with 0 posts. After that, Martinho made some changes to the forums, so the spambots couldn't register. However, it seems they also invented some new technology...

More moderators = less adverts, but the problem is still not solved.

The IP ban doesn't mean much. I have dynamic IP too, so if I got banned, I just unplug my modem. Also, if I go to a webpage where my current IP is banned... well...

In the moderators topic, you missing the point that every moderator needs time to delete a topic. There could be 1000 moderators, it will just end up like if a spam topic appears, 80 moderators will try to delete it at the same time. Also, it's pretty hard to make moderators be online 24/7.

While it was Hailstone, this was a REAL old post. Before the updat on PHPBB, in fact... It no longer has a use thanks to the new board. Let the old threads rest in peace...
