Yes, thank you.  I'll look for it, but because I haven't been on much, I'm not all caught up.

Some people found them biased and offensive.  I liked them, and helped to make some.

They were hard to keep updated, because I cannot test every faction.  Plus, I still have the list of known bugs.

From now on, I will not include factions without new models.  If you don't have the time to model, I cannot be expected to test them.

*thumbs up* Yeeahhh!  Lovin' the attitude.  8)

In Battle for Wesnoth, there's a distinction between what is considered "mainline quality" and what isn't, and only mainline quality stuff gets included.  Mainline includes only all-original sprites, full animations, etc.  I just thought that was a good reference, although I think factions with some modified Magitech models (i.e. only using the human body as a base, but with new weapons and whatnot) should be fine.

Great idea.  Since I seem to have the attention now, I will try to specify what "mainline quality" is.  Of course this will change, but I'm pretty good at picking up trends. ;)

"Mainline Quality Standards (MQS)" will be defined as best I can on the initial post.

Personally, I don't think it's too harsh right now because of the amount of support one can get, both here on the forums, and also on other websites.

I've laid out what I think are good guidelines for a completed faction.  From this time forward, new factions will need to follow them in order to meet the MQS.

I think Dwarves should be moved to finished mods since I consider it completed. It meets all of the MQS except having any original sounds which I highly doubt will ever happen.

A few updates needed:

Romans version 2.0 not BETA 2
Elves version 0.9 not 0.8
Dark Magic 6.0 not 3.1 BETA

Maybe a few others.....

Good idea.  I couldn't remember if you had said you would release another, so I kept it there.

I'm not looking up the links to Romans.  That's your mod and if you don't care enough about it to find the links, that's your problem. :P

I hope that it passes his check.  As far as I know, the textures are stolen from magitech, there are no new sounds, and your images haven't been finished.  If I am wrong, please correct me.  If I am right, you understand now why he probably didn't link Romans yet.

Edit:

I'm too lazy with all the other stuff I gotta do on top of that.
It is interesting that you are too lazy to do that when you have allegedly SO much time on your hands, and Modman has his AP classes.

Who cares about sounds, that's just a nice thing to have but it's not a neccessity,
For the other stuff ask Eliminator.

I care about sounds.  It is not a necessity, but with that philosophy you could exclude new models, textures, music and particle effects.  The point is that it is not a complete faction.

Thanks John, for the links.  It makes my life easier.

Arch, not to rub it in, but for the competition, it is only fair that a competing faction meet the MQS.

Never underestimate sounds.  The most likely reason you don't think that they're important is that in most video games, the sounds are good enough that you don't even think about them sounding wrong or fake... you just enjoy the game.  You sure notice when a sound is poorly done or out of place, though.  I remember seeing a review of some game that mentioned there were only two footstep sounds in the whole game, so the entire time you hear "pit pat pit pat pit pat pit pat pit pat pit pat..." over and over, driving the player mad.  You might not think of the footstep sounds in a game being very important, but if your character is going to be running around all the time, then it suddenly becomes very important!

Well, my voice doesn't come out right when I record it. :-\
It makes me sound like I'm three years old.

BTW this is not a competing faction, this was made before the competition started.

EDIT:Well.....why is Marks mod in the completed mods section, no new models, no new sounds, that's not fair.
