3/4 the time I play glest, the top part of the screen cuts off and goes to the bottom

Like that. (Hopefully that didn't just confuse you)
Also, sometimes Glest will be an updated version (such as having a bar which shows percent complete of a certain order, or showing the health and energy and whatnot) and sometimes it'll be an old version which does not have that stuff.
