do this: https://docs.megaglest.org/Converter
than you should have a program called  "xml2g" ( xml to glest )

- copy the files xml2g g3d.dtd yourmodel.xml into the same directory.
- use a console to change to this directory
- execute "xml2g yourmodel.xml yourmodel.g3d"
- you should receive a file called yourmodel.g3d, a model in glest format!

I finally converted the .xml to a .g3d but the textures are missing + I had to turn it 180° on the Z axis, 90° on the X and place it in the middle again...

Is this not ok?
x-axis is horizontal
y-axis is vertical
z-axis is depth

press NumPad-7 to see it correctly in blender ( or do View->Top in the menus ).
( Btw: Why do they call it top???? )
