Story
This is the campaign story:
Quote
2234 - 18 june - Secinovo
This day is of great importance. The new city which we are assigned to is really wonderful. Today is the first day of it's completion. The City Hall is nearly finished and the Major is going to put on the energy and start the ceremony. The Hesperus, the other ship assigned to Secinovo hasn't arrived yet. I don't see why we have to guard this place, from what? But I'm happy to now that I am here to see this moment. The ceremony will start in five minutes, I'll write further afterwards.

2234 - 20 june - Secinovo
I couldn't continue writing, something strange happened, somehow the energy shield malfunctioned and whole dome collapsed because of a comet which hadn't been spotted by the defence station. Till now we have found 87 dead and 173 wounded, we don't know exactly how many people are missing but we guess it's more than 500.

2234 - 24 june - Secinovo
We've been working hard to get our main generator back to work. Now that we have energy we can start up our systems and call in for help.
We have found another 100 people, all dead.

2234 - 26 june - Secinovo
We have spotted a spaceship flying this direction. The strange thing is that its identity code only has 5 symbols, while all spaceships have an 8 symbol code now.
And if the computer is right the identity code is from the Cantolus, which was destroyed in a crash with an asteroid a 140 years ago.

It is the Cantolus, the now 163 year old ship had survived the crash!

2234 - 27 june - Middle of nowhere
I and five of my comrades probably are the only survivors. The Cantolus, though still looking as before had been renewed completely, the weapons aboard are totaly unknown to us. And it seems that the ships crew has turned against us. That one ship destroyed the whole city, or what was left of it, and defeated our military defences.
I'm intending to return as soon as possible to see if there's still something left.

2234 - 29 june - Still middle of nowhere
We can't find our base, the air, outside the protective dome seems to have defected our navigational systems, and we have traveled for two days in the wrong direction.

2234 - 1 july - Crashed spaceship
Finaly, something different than this endless desert, a crashed ship. There is still lots of provisions, and weapons. The spaceship itself has little use to us, except shelter. We found two dead bodies in the engine room, they starved there since the door was blocked. And we found one in the cockpit, this one had been killed violently.
We buried all three, after looking at their identity badges, they where called Monar, Adarin and Renin. The ship is called the Hesperus and was the one that never arrived in Secinovo.
One of the four hibernation chambers seems to be still intact, but the external system doesn't work, so we can't open it, there is still something inside...

Looks nice so far  :)

The infantry models are well done. Hopefully I will be able to give it a try in the future.

Also I think the title should be 3rd Millenium, 3th doesn't make sense.

Are the tanks meant to be tiny?

No.
The tanks are unfinished (the tracks should be improved)
The infantry models are placeholders, I only textured them.
The buildings are big so it will only be playable on big maps, luckely tanks and aircrafts can move fast.
(there isn't enough place to build every building on 4 rivers map)

What's the idea behind this mod anyway?  I'm guessing it's futuristic warfare, but is it supposed to be high-tech or post-apocalyptic, alien invasion, or what?  Having just a short back story or description would be nice.

Those infantry models, did you make them, or are they from SST:LD? Hard to tell, but the dead ones do look like that (I never did like SST:LD's 'stiff' animations).

At this moment I use SST infantry models, and their dead animation indeed is a bit to stiff.
I'm working on an infantry model of my own but got some problems with the armatures...

The idea is futuristic warfare.
In the beginning you start with modern units.
But after having done some upgrades you can make futuristic units.

The idea is actually "conquerors of the world" (just some crazy dictators trying to take over the whole world).
I'm now making the terrans, but I hope to continue afterwards making aliens (multiple kinds) and maybe another terran faction (if I find a good and different enough idea).

Is it possible to make a unit fire two bullets at the same time, with two particle lines (twin gun)?

A possible energy generator:
http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn36 ... reen45.png
(in real you won't have to build that much solar panels)
with the current statistics this gave me 1425 energy at 25 for every solar panel

Actually I didn't play the military faction yet, because I feared in that case I would take over some of the ideas. I have seen some of the models though.
Putting them in the same tech tree is okay for me, as long as someone else balances it.

I think "Assassin's Guild" doesn't sound like it fits with a futuristic mod.  Might I suggest "Covert Ops Facility" or something like that?

I don't know about putting this in Military, since Military is in the process of being repaired, and once fixed, I'm not sure I'd like to risk seeing it go through this glinch again...

And concering the assassin's guild, I agree that covert ops facility is better, though it does sound a lot like Military's Special Ops Facility.

Oh, and one last thing, what is the meaning of the faction name?
I don't know what Superatores means. Terrae sounds simular to Terra, which means something along the lines of earth. (Latin, if I remember correct) and I guess 3rd Millenium means it refers to the year 3000 (way, way off in the future!)

I agree assassins guild should be renamed but have no idea how...

I'm sorry, I forgot to post my power plant...
http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn36 ... lant-1.png
I know it's only poorly textured (all my models are, but this one is even worse)

Superatores Terrae means "conquerors of the world", which can be said about any glest mod.
3rd millenium was because I didn't know when to place it (21 century was to close).
maybe i'll rename it to 24th or 25th century...
At the moment it's not very futuristic yet, I only finished the modern part.
After building a research facility you can make a robot plant, train lightsaber fighters...

A request to anyone with a working map editor: Could someone make a big map (256x256) with huge paths (an 8x8 unit should be able to walk through most paths). My own map editor doesn't work.

Not to split hairs or anything, but we're in the 3rd millennium right now (1st: AD1-AD1000, 2nd: AD1001-2000, 3rd: AD2001-3000), so as long as it takes place some time in the next 991 years, 1 month, and 12 or so days, the name works.

What would you call a building where assassins can be trained/hired?
Assassin hiring center?
Assassin training center?
Assassination center?
CAES or CASE or CESA (Center for Assassination, Espionage and Sabotage)?
Other suggestions?

I think something using the word "covert ops" or "espionage" might be good.

It is not a covert operation center, it really is about killing.
I already have a Secret Intelligence Headquarters where you can train special agents.

Black Ops does go better than assassin, which brings to me nothing along a 'militaryish' tech tree...

The assassin is not really a soldier it's meant to be used to kill stronger units without spilling your army. They cost expensive, they have a slow reload (fast actually but they need a lot of ep), can shoot from far and move fast.
Probably you're not going to make an army of them (to expensive and weak).
The assassin can take out one particular unit you want to get rid of. This is even more fun in campaigns where you have to kill certain units  :P
The AI has some problems with it though. They just attack with them but mostly they only succeed in killing 1 unit, a stupid rotten soldier (some days after he shot him at least)...

I'm working on a second tech tree but am not sure whether to make it a part of the terran or not.
It's some kind of robot faction, which could be made a subfaction of the terran.
And if there is one subfaction, there should be a second.
Ideas?

I personally think about a modern nature-friendly faction (then i'll still be able to use my solar pannels).

I'm now making the Daedrens faction.

The daedrens are a lot of races working together. There most important building is the evolution control center. This building allows you to morph your units to stronger and better ones. There will be multiple subfactions available to chose from. Each will have its own special evolution trees.

Current models:
Base
Generators (common, U1,U2)
Evolution Control Center

The Terrans now have a laser research.

I like the new icons, but personally I think they look more fantasy/magical than sci-fi/technological.  Also, I'm sure somebody would be glad to help you with your textures.  I'd offer to lend a hand, but I'm just now learning to do it myself.  Other than these little aesthetic issues, this looks pretty good.

The icon is just the iconbg + my icon. The icon is probably not going to be used in game like it is now. But the bgs are.

Still working on a terran icon and a Daedren one. Daedren are fantasy, they are a race (they were one race) that has technologies to make their evolution go faster, and be controllable. You start with one race and end with a lot of different races working together. They have a lot of morphing.
They are supposed to be a bit magical, and have a lot of relegious building. The terrans however have stopped believing in anything but weapons.

The terrans are bad, and the Daedren are, well, less bad, except for their little barbarian culture (sacrifices).

Yeah, I know about the textures, but they are not the final ones.

This is the base model:
