You need to install GAE in order to save game (check GAE forum below).

Thanks for that and I have now downloaded and installed latest GAE. However there still does not seem to be a save game feature. Am I missing something really obvious.
Thanks for any help.

As I remember, you have to press 'Z' or something.

Yes it was "z" .
I think it really should be integrated into the Menü when you press ecs,
but that should be discussed in another topic... ^^

How do you load the game again?

Sorry that a really simple answer will make me look extremely stupid...

Yes it's very simple: "Load game" in the Menü.

What's your engine called?  Is it that sse2.exe or is it i686.exe?
Niether one had "load game" in the menu!

No one said there is save game in the menu. There is only load game there. You have to save with "Z".

I meant "load game" (I edited that out, though) sorry for the mishap.  But that doesn't solve the problem.  There is no "load game".

Also, when I press z, is there supposed to be some confirmation text or something, because when I press z nothing appears to happen.

Are you sure you are using GAE? If not try that.

If it's still not working report it in the GAE forum.

1-> Me seems like you didn't have the correct menu-file ?! (menu.xml)
Did you overwrote it when uploading GAE into your Glest-directory ?

2-> You have to do:
     -press "Z"
     -enter a name for your savegame
     -press ok

If that all doesnt work try to download GAE again.
If it still doesn't work there'll be much new work for the GAE team ^^
