The main issue is valid, but the proposed solutions are short-sighted. What Glest and GAE need is the ability to be completely "skinnable". That is, a "mod" should be able to launch the engine is a manner so that every button, menu, logo, background scene, music, etc, is modified making it look like an entirely different game. I think it should be limited only in that the engine's "about" should never be removable or modifiable (so that one doesn't attempt to masquerade as "I wrote this whole engine"). This is, however, a large undertaking and will require integrating a professional widget library and a lot of coding to facilitate.
In a shorter scope, if somebody wants to make a "Glest Advanced Engine" logo, please feel free to do so and post it or email it to me!
Until then, we'll print the text "Advanced" below the logo before printing the version.
