Continuing the OT from the Dwarf thread:

Regarding soymilk, it has been shown to have far more health benefits than risks, such as reducing the risk of cancer and heart disease, and I think you should be a lot more worried about the ridiculous levels of cancer-causing bovine growth hormones, fat, cholesterol, antibiotics, and pus in cow milk.  On top of that, cow milk actually contains more female hormones than soy milk, leading to gynecomastia, or breast development in males.  So if you're really worried about growing moobs and crying when you watch "The Notebook", you're better off replacing your bovine secretions with soy, almond, or rice milk.

Archmage, if you're 12... why are you worrying...  ::) Then again maybe you do...or not
:P You'll probably need it...or not.
EDIT: Joking...
I really don't care though, only when people, in this case males, are "fat" then they'll have moobs...  ::)

An off topic section ehh? Well, let's hope there will be no...  ::)  :P

Jeeze john. You're scary...  :-X

I prefer cows milk. I dislike any other variety. Milk's good. It tasted good, it looks good  :P, it is good.

*Wow, I can't believe I just posted about milk*

I don't think this one was made with blender, but it is still an amazing indy project. It's called Pigeon Impossible and is very funny. It took a guy five years for six minutes of video. No dialogue, but great audio and fantastic *VERY* professional animation!

I too, am not a fan of cartoons, but this made me laugh, even on the third view. ;D
It was very cool.  :)  8)  :P
Very enjoyable.  ;D

-------------------------
Soy milk is cool... maybe only cause I drank the one that had sugar added to it.  :P  8) Without sugar, or anything added to soy milk, it basically tastes like water. Now if I drink soy milk, it is "naturally" flavored with vanilla...  ::)  :P

Yeah I prefer cow milk... Although I recently have been drinking Organic Cow Milk...and when I drink "regular" it tastes funny...  ::)
I don't think I can be vegan...I can be vegetarian though. I'm not right now, but I don't eat a lot of meat either... I think.  :-[  :-X

Ugh...slaughterhouses  :'(  >:(  :-\ <---a mix of these.

Fantastic point!  I wish I had thought of this!

I remember a short mention of some growth hormone for cows in "The Corporation", a documentary.

I liked that documentary by the way.  Anyone else see it?

I think that as a rule of thumb, if you want to continue a specific subject in OT, you should create another thread. ;)

Sorry for the DP, but this is new.

You're being chased by a bunch of Behemoths about 100 m behind you, surrounded on both sides by thick (impenetrable) forest, when you come to a fork in the road (the kind that makes you choose a direction :P).  There is a man in front of each fork.  You know that one path leads to a cliff (aka your doom) and the other to safety.  You know (somehow) that one of the men will tell the truth when you ask the question, the other a lie.  You only have time for one question (those Behemoths are sure closing in fast).

To whom do you ask the question, and what do you ask?

The above is all exactly the way it sounds; this is not a trick question.  There is a real answer.  Your answer must be a question, not "well, I steal the magic from the man on the left and use it to kill the hoard of Behemoths".

And if you know the answer, please do not post it here; the fun is in the thinking!  If you want confirmation, PM me. ;)

Ah, I remember that riddle.  :)
I mean you just re-worded/Glestd' it actually.  ::)

I remember a short mention of some growth hormone for cows in "The Corporation", a documentary.

I think I saw it. Or another documentary that was talking also about corporations... So if I saw it before, it was a long time ago...maybe a few years? I better re-watch it when I have some time.  :)

Documentaries are nice. Some aren't that great, but others are pretty cool...

Anyone watched Super Size me?  :P

True, but that would create some problems... and that's why I didn't really want an off topic board.  :-\

I've never seen "The Corporation", but "Supersize Me" was very good.  I already hated McDonald's down to the very core of my being, and that just gave me more reason.  There are a bunch of documentaries I've been meaning to watch but haven't gotten around to, including "Food, Inc." and "Fast Food America".  "Fahrenheit 9/11" seems a little too conspiracy-theory-ish for my tastes.

I like original flavor or vanilla soymilk, but when it comes to almond milk I think the vanilla is a bit too strong, so I prefer the regular kind.  Rice milk is okay, but it's a bit watery for my tastes, like bovine milk.

Nowadays, I only eat meat if somebody offers it to me, like if I'm at somebody's house and they cook something.  I do take some supplements with fish ingredients, though.  I guess I can't quite claim to be a vegetarian, but I figure I'm close enough to be able to call myself an environmentalist. ;)

Thanks for posting that picture. Not only was it funny, but I was able to bookmark the site. Lots of laughs there!

For real?!?!?!?!? Ugh. I admit, I dislike people when they refuse to eat normal meat (for what reason). I know american beef isn't that good, but still, it's not that bad, and man cannot live on fish alone (and supplements aren't natural...). Generally I usually meat (pardon the pun) vegetarians who don't eat meat because they are dieting or something, in which case, I can usually recommend EXERCISE rather than vegetarianism  :-X

Concerning those who eat little or diet to try and lose weight, here's my counterpoint (BTW, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying John is trying to lose weight! :P). I'm a pretty big guy, at 6'1", and eat more than anyone in my household, yet I maintain a very much healthy 175 with plenty of muscle, yet a very good academic average. I never diet, I eat my share of junkfood from time to time. I do eat balanced though, getting enough from every food group, but still maintain a healthy weight. I consider exercise to be the best weight management ever, even though I don't go out of my way to keep fit (grueling phys ed classes, extra-curicular sports, and usually jog home from work, but that's about it, with maybe some training in the summer, etc).

I recommend both. The only con of being veg is that it is harder to get Protein, and that a lot of people aren't veg, so it's harder to actually be veg...for some. in my opinion

I eat meat, but I at least don't eat too much...  ::) There are many cons...  :) Not "Smileying" but...it fits the...
Then again sometimes I eat a lot...  ::)
I'm more concerned how people treat the animals that get killed...or how they got killed to eat.   :(

Meat power! Meat contains literally TONS of VITAL nutrients of VARIOUS kinds that are NECESSARY for human SURVIVAL (emphasis, anyone?). I can't imagine trying to play sports without meat. I don't know a lot of vegetarians, but the few I've met weren't athletic at all... And one was goth  :o

Margaret Thatcher, yes that's it! :D

Here's the joke:

Margaret Thatcher and some other important men go to a restaurant, the waitress asks Margaret what she'll be having, she says roast beef. Then the waitress asks: "what about the vegetables?", and Margaret says: "Oh they'll have roast beef too".
