Wireless problems?

I played both on the GameCube, no need for wireless, which is not healthy for the body anyway.
I know, I am talking about the conference at E3... they had wireless interference, which made the gameplay look worse or bad...

Nope, and I can't because my Gamecube is broken. But my friend Jordan beat it.

Too bad.  I was trying it on Ocarina of Time and got all the way to the boss fight with Volvagia (Fire Temple as adult Link).  I was doing pretty well, but my N64 is back at my folks' house.  Maybe one of these days I'll get an emulator. :look:

Not... joking? Have you played Final Fantasy IV and VI-IX yet? That, my friend, is how Final Fantasy is meant to be! XIII is ok, it has a decent storyline (better than XII at least!) but totally nixed the battle style, as well as the level up style, and is continuing the awful tradition of having only weapons and accessories as equipment. It also makes gameplay way too linear for the most part, not letting you have anything optional until you reach gran pulse, and it's still limited there. Another big problem is the overpoweredness of the monsters, since it doesn't matter how much of your party is alive. It's game over when the leader dies, not the entire party (even XII did better than that, if your 3 characters were defeated, you could switch to your reserve 3). When the party first lands on Gran Pulse, some of the enemies are literally capable of one hit KOing you!

Fail Square Enix, Fail.

Legend of Zelda is great, though I still prefer twilight princess because it has everything we know and love, plus more, not to mention gorgeous graphics. True, graphics aren't everything, but with TP's great gameplay, its double the awesomeness!

Emulators are fine IMO, since they let you play games on outdated consoles that are hard to find. How many people can still switch to their N64 to play Legend of Zelda?

Well, I think Skyward Sword is going to be great. Looks great, and I can have some fun or memories from Wind Waker...  ::)
Also, I heard they are re making OoT for 3DS...   :|

Yeah, I agree. But, sometimes they ruin the fun by having cheats, or it just doesn't feel like you are playing the game...compared to the game's original platform. But, it's still cool. , OoT, I'm lucky...I have that gamecube version of it...  :) and I still have my super Nintendo, along with a Dreamcast that I don't play much.

Well, if are going to get a wii, get it for a good deal. Sometimes, you can get it for 30 to 50 bucks cheaper with an extra game  :)
Not playing video games? I can believe it. I mean, the main problem is that you get addicted, you don't focus on school, and etc...

WoW is addictive, it appeals to the human instinct of survival and the need to bypass others, become better than others, the competition, and all that gets so interesting that they can`t quit, one of WoWs original authors said so.

It is addictive, it can be at least, it just depends on what are type of thing you are playing/working on it, or if you have other things to do...

Also, I heard they are re making OoT for 3DS...   :|
Indeed, that has been confirmed. Can't wait, though that would mean I'd have to buy another system... I put off by using my original DS since the beginning of time. I didn't consider buying a DS Lite, DSi, or DS XL simply because I didn't need them. But the 3DS will be a whole new line of systems, so I suppose it's necessary. Makes you wonder if they can keep prices to the same as it was to the original DS?

I believe video game addiction exists. When I first got Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, I played for 12 hours in one day! I also can easily play runescape for hours without noticing the passing time (that is, until I lag and see a glimpse of the clock at the bottom!).

However, they don't impact my school work or the rest of my life. That is for the weak-minded.

Yeah, I am somewhat the same. I can even be like that with Glest... (general, not posting on the forums, but playing...)

Pretty sure I've already posted this here before, but it's pretty relevant to the discussion:
http://www.cracked.com/article_18461_5-creepy-ways-video-games-are-trying-to-get-you-addicted.html
(disclaimer)As a Cracked article, there's bound to be some strong language... so yeah.(/disclaimer)

If you've ever been addicted to a game or known someone who was, this article is really freaking disturbing. It's written by a games researcher at Microsoft on how to make video games that hook players, whether they like it or not. He has a doctorate in behavioral and brain sciences. Quote:

"Each contingency is an arrangement of time, activity, and reward, and there are an infinite number of ways these elements can be combined to produce the pattern of activity you want from your players."

Notice his article does not contain the words "fun" or "enjoyment." That's not his field. Instead it's "the pattern of activity you want."

The "really freaking disturbing" article from the quote:
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3085/behavioral_game_design.php?page=1

Additionally, semi-related:

Good idea. Though I must admit that I still did enjoy some of FF XII's elements. Namely the battle against the ultimate mark: Yiazmat! Took my 6 hours to take the brute down! 50 million HP? Who was square kidding? Still, best monster fight I've ever had!

Hmm, I saw that article before john. Pretty neat.

Yeah, well the actual Gamasutra article is kinda creepy considering it's basically a scholarly review of how to manipulate and (in some ways) coerce players into doing what the designers want.  I guess it's just disconcerting to know we're being tricked, and how many aspects of games are designed completely without regard to fun, rather just to keep us metaphorical rats pulling a lever.  I'm kinda glad I haven't played any MMOs in a long time.

Oh, and regarding the latest Final Fantasy:
