For me, medieval would probably qualify to be the funnier subject, BTW, did you know norway got the dumbest pupils? So i hear...

Here is the crap we have to learn:

Christian knowledge and religious and ethical education
Norwegian
Mathematics
Social Studies
Art and Crafts
Science and the Environment
English (is compulsory from the primary level)
Music
Home Economics
Physical Education
Compulsory additional subjects

OH btw, did you know that nearly all our politicians have NO EDUCATION AT ALL, and with 15 "parties" to choose...it is too much, compare like this:

US: 200 million, 3 parties
NO: 5 million, 15 parties...

You know what's dumb about American schools?  We have to take a foreign language in high school.  You know, once our brains are past the stage where we can actually learn new languages.  Simply idiotic.

While we technically have a bunch of political parties in the USA, only two of them really matter.  Occasionally an independent will get elected to an office, but there hasn't been any presidential race where an independent has had any real chance of winning.

Forgot, :o :o :o I think the World wars are the best subjects.
I agree! Unfortunately, my class doesn't do the World Wars in history until next year, but I'm way ahead of that. Thanks to wikipedia, I learned that long ago! ;D

History *is* my favorite subject, though in my school, its called Social Studies, and often groups in things like Politics, Economics, and pre-history. Medieval was also quite fun. I always found the roman empire fascinating!
US: 200 million, 3 parties
NO: 5 million, 15 parties...
IMO, more political parties can be better, as it gives more choices, however, that would make electing a leader harder, and getting a majority government (which I consider a good thing) much harder (assuming, of course, the norway is like Canada in electing a leader, where the leader of the party with the most elected representives becomes Prime Minister (even if he didn't win his riding, though I've never seen that happen)).

Canada has three major parties, the Conservatives (my favorite), the Liberals (Boo), and the NDP (never won an election). There's also about a dozen smaller parties that don't even have a seat, and somehow, a joke party, the Marijuana Party tries for a seat (but naturally never even comes close)...

Wow John, you have to learn a language? That sucks... I had to "learn" french up until grade 6, but then no more (yay, I hate french. At the moment, I am limited to "Bonjour")! Unfortunately, I have a feeling I'll have to take it in University to become an elementary teacher........

In other news, I passed my road test today! Yes! Freedom starts now! :D :D :D

Yeah, we're required to take 2 years of a foreign language in high school, and I'm having to take two semesters again in college as a graduation requirement.  That's a bit of a pet peeve of mine: I'm getting a degree in Communications, and I've already taken all of the communication-related courses I need, so why do I have to stick around and take more classes that have nothing to do with my field?  I can understand needing to take Spanish, since that language is a requirement for communicating in this part of the country, but they're making me take extra classes just to fill a quota for total credit hours.  I could take ballroom dancing, for crying out loud! >:(

LOL :O :O, maybe ballet :D :D

Omega if you go wikipedia you have to check your sources, though from what I checked occasionally its all correct and thats where I get lots of my history inf too. I liked the crusades and hundred years war in the middle ages but my stupid school gives you a quarter of middle ages, a quarter of rennaisance, a quarter of religious change(sucked ::) ::) ) and a quarter of explorers, pretty much everything you wanna learn is on your own :|

If you think thats stupid I started learned a different language (spanish) in 7th grade and  have to all the way up to my last year in high school. I hate that it would have been easier to learn as a little kid but nooooo they have to torture people. I'm horrible at spanish too I don''t get it....

Schools=*Puke* Let's not talk about schools.......

What do you guys think about guns and gun laws?
About war and peace?
What to do with the army and budget?

Not necessarily all of those issues, those are just things I think would be interesting to discuss.

Guns should definitely stay legal, war is the partially the only way to maintain peace, the army shouldn't be limited by the budget(were gonna stop making f-22's because of the stinkin budget ::) ::)

Your opions are complete oppisite to mine. I think guns should be ILLEGAL to common people. Only millitary and hunter should be able to use them but i think they should make it harder to become a official hunter cause they killing animals. But i think guns should be illegal to common people because there is no reason to own a gun even for protection people use them in the wrong way and used in so many crimes its too easy to get a gun and kill someone.. tsk tsk tsk

And with war yes its a good way to make peace but there are so many other efficiant ways its just the human heart is dark and think killing is good. Like Martin luther king jk he has peacful protects but the whites were angry and didn't like it so they did it violently

Hm but do you think hitler would have listened to peaceful protest, second of all the right to own a gun was in my opinion based on that if the population is armed and a tyrant comes to power they can dispose of him, killing may not be good but if people hadn't fought in ww2 europe would all be germany :P :P ::) ::)

Hitler was democratically elected. People sacrificed their freedom for their welfare. Only the _stupid_ USAkians think that democracy can solve everything, since they have enough money, to fill in the holes caused by the mistakes. Easterner countries can't afford it. Yet, USA forcefully makes a democratic government everywhere.

Very true and they don't want democracy but if they threaten us it has to be solved does it not, second of all hitler was made chancellor by Hindenburg not by popular election :P

I don't either though sometimes it seems that a good dictator is better then a bad democracy, after all several dictators did good for their country
