Interesting... Though, Blender is free, and I'd rather support a free program than a commercial program. May the open source forever rule!

wrong question, I have to find a university that teaches blender, surely i would want blender to be the preferred program and the best, but i have to say that mudbox zbrush and 3ds max free license is better than one blender. No doubt, i would like blender to be the leaders right now it is 3ds, and there aint much universities here in norway, and then i dont think i would find one that teaches 3d in blender.

To be honest, blender can easily match 3DS Max, in my opinion. It's biggest downside is lack of bundled wizards and examples, but that is also an upside because it reduces filesize. Would be nice to see an optional download though that could add such things... The new version's UI looks cooler, abet, I'll have to learn it all again, plus, the export script won't work for 2.5, so we'll DEFINATELY need someone experienced with python to fix that up.

youll have to export the 250 file into blender 2.49 and then animate it there so it should work fine.

It doesnt matter if blender can match 3ds max, even with anim8or you can make stunning stuff, it just requires a skill with the program, like we can all agree right that 3ds max does beat blender because it got more stuff that it can do automatically, though of its 1Gb size -.- I got better skills with blender, so i get better results with blender. If i knew anim8or better, i would make better with anim8or.

The same applies for the programs in overall. If you check out the galleries of Blender art and compare it to galleries of 3DS Max art, you'll see that both are capable of creating the same level of detail.

Examples of good Blender stuff:
A free magazine published bi monthly, where I happened to learn some epic techniques from. All articles are VERY professional!
An affiliated blender site with great tips and guides, and of course, a pretty gallery.
The official gallery. Very epic.

Yeah i know, but all programs can create stunning 3d, it just demands a little skill within the program, i think we agreed?

That's not necessarily true. While youtube is probably much bigger, runescape is the biggest MMO in the world, according to the world records...

Besides, RS is waaay better than WOW. :)

I thought that you can make as many WOW accounts as you want with membership? I remember a debate on RS once about that. RS is cheaper membership, but if you want membership on more than one account, you have to pay for each of them, while WOW lets you have membership on all the accounts that you own.

I don't play WOW, so I really don't know, but it all comes down to the big picture: number of accounts doesn't necessarily mean anything...

Yes but WOW IS BORING! There is only ONE SKILL and one way, you get to lvl 80 (90 after cataclysm?) and then its stop for you, nothing mroe to do. On rs, there you have 20-30  skills you can train! Its like a loadpack of more ways and paths you can take, each thing affecting another.
