My Toshiba Laptop is pretty good. Of course, I have disabled TONS of windows and toshiba stuff that came with it!
I disabled DEP, UAC, Toshiba Flash Cards, and a ton of other startup programs including the sidebar and windows media player network sharing control. I would recommend everyone to get Glary Utilities for windows vista. The free version will really be handy.
My computer is a Toshiba A220 (or something like that) laptop.
1.62 GHz AMD 64 Athlon X2 processor (hope to upgrade sometime, but not a lot of options for laptops that will use the same ports)
2 GB DDR2 RAM
180 GB HDD (not the best for a laptop these days, but external HDDs can be $120 for 1TB here in Canada
)
4 USB ports (laptop, shortage, since I have speakers, mouse, printer, cooling pad, and this leaves no room for iPod, TV Tuner, etc; Need a hub
1 DVD Super Multi Burner (can burn all normal DVDs, all kinds, but not Blu-Ray or HD)
Windows Vista Home Premium (win 32)
ATI Radeon X1200 with 832MB memory (however, I recently learned only 128MB is graphics memory, the rest is shared!
)
1280x800 resolution LCD monitor, 15 inches
Do you want to know the sweet deal I got on this baby?
$400, open box and refurbished!
Greatest deal I ever got, plus a $200 2 year service and labor thingy from future shop!
It works great, and I prefer it over some of those $2000 laptops (macs, ugh!).
Sweet deal, huh?
