The worst computer deal i ever saw was on that show where you have to guess the price of a certain vacation or appliance.  (I can't remember the name).  There was this huge dell with really crappy specs and i was thinking $500-700, but it actually was like $4000!  i couldn't believe it, but i then thought  'Oh, this must be a rerun from like 2001 or something'.
"The Price Is Right"?
Yeah, I think so.  I just couldn't put my tongue on it.

I'm glad I bought the additional 2-year accidental damage warranty, because after it stopped working properly, I accidentally dropped it down the stairs a couple times so they'd replace it.
Nice ;D I've heard plenty of stories from classmates about how they buy cheap acers and compaqs and then are surprised at the piece of junk they have.

Heh heh.  That sounds pretty desperate, but I can understand.  I can just see someone doing that, either looking evil or being totally red in the face.

Hey I want to make a promotional video of Glest that I can put at the end of all my YouTube videos, but I don't know what program I should use.  I need a freeware (best-case scenario :)) program that captures the video but also captures sound and works in Glest.  some programs just don't work properly when I do those things with them in Glest.

BTW check out my YouTube Channel

My computer is from december '07.  It has:

Processor:  1.6 GHz (Wish it was more)
RAM:  1 GB (Upgraded to 2; I tried to upgrade to 4, but didn't work :'( )
HDD:  80 GB
Graphics Card: nVIDIA GeForce 8400 (I have tried many times to upgrade, but in order to do so i would need a better processer  :'( )
6 USB Ports
1 CD Drive (I added seconed one that is really cool)
No Internet  :'( :'( :'( :'( (for internet i use parents laptop)

Before i got this computer i had a really crappy windows 95 computer.

P.S.  The laptop is really running slow so I will probably have a lot of typos in this post.  :-[

My Toshiba Laptop is pretty good. Of course, I have disabled TONS of windows and toshiba stuff that came with it!

I disabled DEP, UAC, Toshiba Flash Cards, and a ton of other startup programs including the sidebar and windows media player network sharing control. I would recommend everyone to get Glary Utilities for windows vista. The free version will really be handy.

My computer is a Toshiba A220 (or something like that) laptop.
1.62 GHz AMD 64 Athlon X2 processor (hope to upgrade sometime, but not a lot of options for laptops that will use the same ports)
2 GB DDR2 RAM
180 GB HDD (not the best for a laptop these days, but external HDDs can be $120 for 1TB here in Canada ;D)
4 USB ports (laptop, shortage, since I have speakers, mouse, printer, cooling pad, and this leaves no room for iPod, TV Tuner, etc; Need a hub
1 DVD Super Multi Burner (can burn all normal DVDs, all kinds, but not Blu-Ray or HD)
Windows Vista Home Premium (win 32)
ATI Radeon X1200 with 832MB memory (however, I recently learned only 128MB is graphics memory, the rest is shared! :()
1280x800 resolution LCD monitor, 15 inches

Do you want to know the sweet deal I got on this baby?
$400, open box and refurbished!
Greatest deal I ever got, plus a $200 2 year service and labor thingy from future shop!
It works great, and I prefer it over some of those $2000 laptops (macs, ugh!).

Sweet deal, huh?

Hey Omega, instead of giving your backup copies of Military to your messy friend why not give them to me.
My Dad's computer has 2 harddrives: one is 500GB the other is 1TB, plenty of room for a backup copy of military, considering I have a folder on my Desktop with about 20-30 different factions in it, I might still have the old military, but I don't know if you want that or not, and I think there is still a download link in the military topic.

There's only one problem: You don't have a backup to give me :P

Ok, I guess I just volunteered to store backup copies for people, just PM me if you have a backup copy for me. :)

That would be nice, but I put it on a disc, since I didn't want to upload on this internet. After, I will just save everything to a thumbdrive the moment I finish it (if I can get it back, that is. I haven't been able to contact my friend, he's not answering the phone?!? Away somewhere?).

For now, I'm brushing up on my web design, especially PHP and JS. I just learned some new stuff the other day even. I hope to update the glest guide sometime, but for now I don't have the files. Have to download them...

There are lots of these kind of texture ressources on the web (for example  http://www.cgtextures.com ) but you will always get in trouble with their licences when want to redistribute your derived work with a free license ( GPL for example ).
Thats exatcly the reason for my engagement on burningwell, because I got into trouble with these licenses.
So you better use stuff rom burningwell, because it's definitly all free (completely  public domain )

When we use from burningwell, is there a problem if we modify the image?  What if I recolor the image and brighten it a little so it looks like something different?

You can really do whatever you want with the things from burningwell!
- You can use and modify them in any way you want
- You can release them with another license
- You can sell them
- You can even say they are your photos ( but thats really not very kind! )

And you really don't have to credit anyone, but it would be nice if you do it.

That's actually really sweet. However, the only problem is quality. Tileable textures can be better if you can find some under the proper liscence. However, they are almost always computer generated (or at least modified) since most things in life aren't like your kitchen floor (love the stuff).

Still, they are good if you can modify them. Textures of bricks and tree trunks are probably the most handy.

I uploaded a really nice cobblestone texture i made using Paint.Net as a way of showing off my newfound skills.  I tried it in game with my invaders and it really felt like I was watching a brigade of redcoats storming colonial boston!

Hypothetical
Now I should make the first one the homepage at school! :D  Heh heh, I don't think I will though.

That would be extra funny though because only some people would notice.

Well of course no one would notice, cause that happens very frequently in IE.

Installing IE is, installing suck, and a lot of it.

I made a new unit in blender and i thought maybe you guys would like to see it.

I'm sorry but there is no image.  :-[  I made one but Mediafire couldn't find the image.  Download it if you are at all curious because it is small and I would like you to.  ;D

Download the '.blend' file here(Only 71KB!): http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tanmnwmz1mz

You can download it, copy the concept, use the blend or do anything else you want to with it, even add it to your faction.  Just give me credit pretty please.  :)

EDIT: Here is a glest mod that i find relatively similar to the military faction Omega is making.  You may want to read over it.
