Does anybody have this pet peeve?
It is when someone posts a download and doesn't give a description or a picture?  I really wish people would post that stuff.
I do. Even though I don't post that myself. I always try to have a good description though.
Well, I guess that is true because Omega no longer supplies us with his infinite writing proficiency.  Then again, he really isn't on the forums now.

I don't think animation would be a problem since interpolation can be done fairly efficiently with maths ??? Also Silnarm made a topic about improving rendering and didn't mention it. https://forum.megaglest.org/index.php?topic=4628.0 But we won't really know unless it is tested.
Thank you for the information, because my idea is just a idea I had come by in my head.  I might have seen that thread, but I really cannot sort through all that code in GAE fast enough to get everything.

You don't remember me saying 'DESCRIPTION' at the top of my lungs? Or at least the top of my fingers...

And who says I'm 'not really on the forums now'?!? I just am more limited during school season. As you could tell, I do a LOT of stuff, so never have any free time. As a result, only get online every now and then. However, I almost always visit the Glest Board when online (except when at school with a teacher over my shoulder...).

What do you mean?

By the hottest (without the danged typo that changes everything), I mean in general. I am NOT a supermodel fan. Personally, I prefer the 'tomgirl' types, who worry about things other than 'is my makeup straight?'. I prefer girls that are beautiful, but compared to personalities and who they really are, beauty is really nothing. Just a little extra! ;) But honestly, for an average girl in my school, they do get quite 'hot', and you can quote me on that one!

And let's not forget pamela anderson, Canada's centenial baby!

Man, all the girls at WJHS(where I used to go to school) are either ugly/fat and mean, ugly/fat and nice, hot and mean, or hot and not mean but not nice.

I do.  You only seem to be posting on your Glest Guide topic.  Like it or not, you aren't really on the forums anymore.

I'm definately still active, but as more and more people post in the Mods board, and I fall behind, it becomes harder for me. I post more on smaller posts and always return emails and PMs.

Besides, topics with lots of pictures are slow to load, and lots of mods have that. Finally, as I said before, I have lots of school, etc; While I wait for Daniel to give me the green light for FPM, I've been mostly working on the Glest Guide and learning some more C++. I now properly understand classes. Thank you ebooks!

that is ridicules (or however you englishmen spell or say it), they sell the models you guys (i don't know who, but somebody from glest, titi or someone) made for a lot of money, don't you have copyright on it? sue them, they didn't say it comes from you (the creators) they didn't say where it comes from, from who, and they charge 50$! if you guys put that under copyright, and nobody gave permission to them to sell it, than you can sue their A**es of (sry for my english, but this makes me really mad). I mean, thats the biggest crap i have ever seen, guys, you should sue them, you have every right, and if you are lucky, you might even make a lot of money by suing them, go for it guys, go for it, i would  be more than happy to act as a witness or something, even if  it means for me to leave canada and fly to states (i am serious)

Oh, gosh, well I don't think we can sue him.  Besides, be made the models, and I am too grateful to actually care, really, even if he is illegally selling the stuff.  Those files are not actual glest files, they are his .max files.  As far as I know, he does what he wants.

You see at the top of the page where it says "3d Products by Tucho"?  Tucho is the artist who made the original Glest models.  He's the one selling them on TurboSquid (if I'm understanding things correctly).  They're his work and he has every right to make money from it.  However, he's also kept them available for us to use for free.  Presumably he's selling them under a different license, so that people who want to use his models in commercial games don't have to abide by the GPL, but anybody who wants them for free has to keep it open-source.  That sounds like a great arrangement to me.

Yes, I knew he was the texture artist, but I really can't imagine myself liking another game using glest's models.  But he can do what he wants with the models, they are his.

Sorry I've been away a bit guys... I've been having some major computer troubles recently and still haven't fixed it. Odd, isn't it? Microsoft releases Windows 7 and on the same day my Vista starts acting up. All the more reason for me to ask for Windows 7 for christmas. So, if any of you can figure our what's wrong, you'll save me the trouble of figgin' re-installing vista (something I'm afraid to do. I have bad past experiences with reinstalling OSes). So I notice a few things off the bat: all 3rd party programs work 100% fine, as does all hardware. Drivers work fine, but the ATI Catalyst Control Center doesn't, though the driver works (whew, otherwise I'd be looking at a 1024x768 generic screen). Sound doesn't work at all. Hovering over the volume in the tool panel says that the audio service is not running. Many windows functions give me the error that not enough storage is available to complete the operation. Microsoft says this error is because the registry's size has been exceeded, which I admit would make sense for most of my troubles, but the only help I can find is for older OS's, namely pre windows 2000.

I'm not running many programs at all. In fact, at the time, just the bare minimum, and I am using 20% of my 2 GB of real RAM, and 15% of my 7 GB of virtual RAM. I noticed that the windows performance index is missing from the system screen, though I was able to access it direct. Tried increasing the size of the paging file to the max, without success. Just googling for help now... I have to DJ a junior dance at my school on the friday before halloween (THIS FRIDAY!!!) so this just won't do! Worst case scenario I can copy all my music onto the schools (sucky) computers and install a program to play them (fortunately I have a local login there). However, that would kinda suck, and would be slow to move files, since I have some 10 GB of music on my laptop, so using three DVD's seems like a waste, and I have no external HD.

If I end up having to reinstall vista, how should I do it? Also, I want to backup ALL of my files EXACTLY as they were, but that seems so tedious to do on DVDs, and I don't have any dual layer to burn (and even then I'd need a lot). My dad has an old computer we don't use anymore that has a big enough HDD installed to hold all my files. Is there any way to move my files to another HDD?

Thanks. I will definately be getting Windows 7, and will definately be using a clean install. I mean, I've had more computer troubles this year than ever before. Of course, while vista is pretty bad right now, I still stand by windows. 7 sounds nice, and linux definately has its downtimes. Just look at glest.110mb.com or glest.codemonger.org. They are linux hosted and have a kinda nasty downtime...

Thus why I hate Saudi Arabia. I support freedom, and thus I'll take this one step further...
its frm the glest story creator topic but i have a long answer and i dont wish to interrupt...
Omega tell me the things u think are 'enslaving' the women or men and i shall be more than happy to answer them
I'll start off with the most common one..
A law states that a woman should cover her whole body - except her face and her hands up to the wrist, in a non see-through cloth that is not too tight as to reveal her body outline

Lemme ask u a question. Suppose there are 2 twins - each equal to the other in beauty except for the fact that one is wearing the clothing mentioned above and the other wearing the western clothing - mini skurts, tight shirt, etc and there is a hooligan jus around the corner waitin for a catch, which one would he choose?
but naturally, he would choose the woman with the western clothing! its human nature! and u say protecting woman's rights is the opposite of freedom? so i would guess the way the western women dress up showing many parts of their body and showing it as a fashion is liberating??? what are we doing here??
I can give a very detailed answer if u give the exact things the western media ( largely the American media ) has made u believe - this isnt only for u- its for all those who think like u...

Maybe the united states once were a nice and free country and maybe they will change back to this one day, but currently ( thanks Mr bush ) for me its a country where I don't want to live. There is too much control of the human population and for me its a paranoid country which always believes it's threatend by terrorists. Its the same kind of thing thats coming up here in germany! Secret services like CIA and others get more and more power and do what they want. The whole public communication with internet/telecommunikation is completly controlled and filtered and some strange power obsessed people get more and more influence ....
Maybe there are terrorists, and maybe there is a real threat, but the damage they may cause is nothing compared to this huge loss of freedom the US currently has. Its the same problem here and its getting more and more worse every day. I hoped that obama would change something here, but it looks like the people in the background get more and more power.
You can't defend freedom by giving up your freedom!

Beside of this the US have a completly uncontrolled banking system that will cause the next crash soonand the politics of the US in general have completly lossed the controll of their economy in my opinion.
I love u Titi!  :)

Actually it is you who do not think like us.
Protecting womens rights(kung's opinion): Forcing them to where clothes whether they want to or not, even on extremely hot days.

I think: It's fine if women go around with "western clothes", it's there choice if they don't mind men enjoying them, I consider violating a womans rights to be rape, or sexual harassment, or something else no one should ever do.

I think the issue here is not the clothing itself, but rather that it is being forced.  I'm not saying it's wrong or right.  It's not really my issue to judge.

Absolutely.  You must understand that in a country founded right out of a fight for more, just rights, it is nearly impossible to look at a restrictive religious laws in parts of the world that are not considered great allies and think 'Nice!".  People care that women are forced to wear body-hiding clothes.  The idea of women wearing it in my opinion is perfectly fine, just mandating its wear is completely ridiculous.

Where did you hear that?  I suspect your Muslim PROPAGANDA!  I can deduce that you haven't visited the US in a long time if you think that is a common enough occurence for a law.  People don't just sit around in cars looking for girls in pantyhose' and miniskirts to snatch.   :P

I can give a very detailed answer if u give the exact things the western media ( largely the American media ) has made u believe - this isnt only for u- its for all those who think like u...
Well, extreme law such as yours is not often mentioned, just when Sarkozy tried to ban bhurkas in pools...  But what I believe is that it is a largely benevolent law that seems normal to you, but not to people who's ancestors died by the thousands to get those rights.

and u say protecting woman's rights is the opposite of freedom? so i would guess the way the western women dress up showing many parts of their body and showing it as a fashion is liberating??? what are we doing here??
I can give a very detailed answer if u give the exact things the western media ( largely the American media ) has made u believe - this isnt only for u- its for all those who think like u...
Uh, it is not a right that you can't wear certain clothing, it is a law.  Try taking a look at our 'propaganda' (dictionary.com) and tell me what you want to correct in that statement.  But you make a strong point, that women should not wear those clothes.  I don't know how widespread this belief is, but some things need to be changed in society rather than in the laws and regulations.  If society could be changed to look down upon mini skirts we may have less teenage pregnancy among other things.  If a law were passed like yours, there would be defiance, veto efforts and (oh, I forgot, it is unconstitutional in america).  A law only works where the people are united under a factor such as religion, creed, previous law system, etc that favors/doesn't have a problem with that law.  In this case, Saudi Arabia is a good place for it as far as how popular it would be, but not the US where the above factors are so varied and likely to change quickly (because we allow it in america, in saudi arabia you have to say you are a muslim, according to every tv and paper news source I have read.

I fully support the ability for women to choose what they want to wear themselves, not having MEN choose it for them. Why don't you just let the women decide? Some might want to wear the same old robes, but at least give them a CHOICE of what they wish to wear. If they want to wear a bikini top, so be it. If they want to wear a sweater, let them. if they want to wear JEANS (best piece of clothes ever), don't try and stop them.

And BTW, mark is right on basically everything he said in that last post.
