Okay, I started on the sounds for the Ibis. I've got maybe about half of them done. I'm keeping a copy of the clean version of each recording (except the two I lost) in *.ogg format, along with a copy of the modified sound in *.ogg format, and the *.aup file for further editing.
The effects I'm using are as follows:
1. Record the sound
2. Noise removal
3. Duplicate the sound into two additional tracks
4. Track 1 - lower pitch by 25%
5. Track 2 - lower pitch by 35% and increase speed by 3%
6. Track 3 - lower pitch by 50%
7. Truncate silence
The final product is a bit like the Goa'uld from Stargate, but not quite. The multiple pitches lend a sort of unearthly quality to the sound, and the speed modification puts just a little bit of offset to it (enough that it sounds a little bizarre, but not enough to separate it into two different sounds). I'll try to get the rest done within the next few days.
