Her is the snake unit. Not really ready, but ready for a demo in the magic faction.

Good work with the snakes.  I would make the scarabs a bit bigger, though.

I think that for the snake, the name cobra would be fine.  The scarab beetles are HUGE! I hink that they should be at least reduced to 1/3 size.  They probably don't need very high HP, probably like 250, and a little bit of armor(because of the exoskeleton).  They would probably be useful for swarming the enemies ranged attackers.  I think that a sphynx should be a slow moving (100-150 move speed)creature about the size of a golem and would swipe at enemies with its powerful claw.  Having a Jackal Guardian type unit would be cool, and it could be very tall and use a giant spear for its attack.  I think there could be a Nile Farm which grows livestock and grain, and a nile hunt, which would hunt hippos and ducks.

There are loads of Ideas for Egyptian animals, Nile Crocodile, Egyptian Phoenix, Sand Cat, Fenec Fox, and so on.
I think a Crocodile would be cool!

yes yes I know, I also have lots of ideas for this, but I like the simple techtree which is good for the glest engine. I will try to mainly follow it, but a crocodile is definitly something I thought about :).

one of the main weapons of Egypt was the chariot: 1-2 horses   with an archer or a spearman driving

Hmm, I noticed that too. Is that what they really are? What are they doing there? Did I miss something?

Very good models titi. I can imagine the enemies fear as they see these three feet long bugs attacking them *shudder*. That's actually kind of creeping me out.

@titi - crocodile would seem a little out of place since there is no way to traverse water, and they would be bored with just the land. Besides, this faction needs some human units. (Though I can understand why you have been putting them off. Human units are hard and dull. The sphinx model is really good, but is the size right? Looking at the picture, it seems that you may have some units walking into its butt! Also, how does it attack? I can see there is no EP. The snake attacks by what? Spitting poison (possible in real life)? Wouldn't a greenish proj do better there?

I'm not complaining though. Although I am a bit baffled why only Titi seems to be doing the modeling...

As I said before the tires are from a project of my son ( secret project ... )
I currently only make the models and the xml setup is not in my focus. I think others are  also know how to do it ;).

And with the crocodiles you are right, we need some more human fighters. Someone said the swordman is not so good, because they had no iron.
I think this is right, someone has another idea for a shortrange unit?

definitely include the chariot it was one of the main weapons of ancient egypt
and here's the proof from the bible:

Exodus-15:4
 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.



And now the info:
The chariot, together with the horse itself, was introduced to Egypt by the Hyksos invaders in the 16th century BC and undoubtedly contributed to their military success. In the remains of Egyptian and Assyrian art there are numerous representations of chariots, from which it may be seen with what richness they were sometimes ornamented. The chariots of the Egyptians and Assyrians, with whom the bow was the principal arm of attack, were richly mounted with quivers full of arrows. The Egyptians invented the yoke saddle for their chariot horses in ca. 1500 BC. The best preserved examples of Egyptian chariots are the four specimens from the tomb of Tutankhamen.

OK I will try it, but it will be a bit complicatd because it will be a big(long) unit.
But a chariot is definitly not a starting unit!
Currently we only have a spearfighter.
Anyone knows a good swordman replacement?

the picture is a modern katar but they are desert weapons made from any of the following: {metals, bones, stone(for the blade)}, {leather(for grip and arm brace)}
this one is my favorite



2) slinger
just a guy shooting a slingshot



3)bone fighter
just someone who lunges with a sharp bone



4)stickfighter, not recommended, used too much
you know what a stickfighter looks like

Pictured here are three old-school Egyptian weapons.  The first picture is of a khopesh (which is what I have in mind for my Sun faction's Bladesman) and a mace.  The khopesh is a heavy chopping weapon, something like a hybrid of a sword and an axe, that was used in ancient Egypt.  The Egyptians used maces with heads made of smooth polished stone (like marble) or metal.  The second picture is an example of an earlier, more axe-like, kind of khopesh.
