Torch unit
« on: 16 October 2004, 11:47:03 »
Ignacio Lopez has sent us a new unit for Glest, the Torch unit, this unit lights the path for your units at night. Specially recommended for those that have complained about how dark the game was at night.

It can be downloaded from the additional downloads section.

Saludos

In my spare time I would gladly make both an original torch unit and a torch structure (instead of using pre-made models). Ill get to work on it in a few days.

for me it looks like just as a xml / character problem.. perhaps you should keep all lower case?

and: there are 2 kinds of mage tower folders inside, that shouldn´t work, i think..

yes, in my personal opinion ( i never added tourch unit, nore im on linux) its really just a upper case problem..

open up torch.xml

The string "Stone" contains a character that is not allowed: "S
look for the word Stone in uppercase at the beginning, make the s lower case and save..
perhaps it works..

Code: [Select]
Couldn't process event: Error loading Faction Types: techs/magitech
Error loading units: techs/magitech/factions/magic
Error loading UnitType: techs/magitech/factions/magic/units/torch/torch.xml
Node "skill" doesn't have 1 children named  "fade"

Tree: skill (type name ep-cost speed anim-speed animation sound (sound-file sound-file sound-file )  )
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
