Heh, I've 'advertised' the Notepad ++ (recommended actually) for a while. Time to let everyone else do the job.
In short, it has some of the best (if not the best) synatix highlighting ever, in almost every known language. It has text effects, can convert to HTML &'s (ie: " becomes "). It has good formating, easy tabs, and more.
I would recommend you also take the time to look at Glest's lau features for making SCRIPTED SCENARIOS. (

BTW: Beginning is double n, single g. You are begging (as in requesting on your hands and knees) for something
