Multiplayer bug in 3.2.1 on Ubuntu
« on: 5 May 2009, 17:19:43 »
Hi,

I just installed 3.2.1 version from GetDeb site. The two computers use Ubuntu 8.10. One is 64 bit, the other 32 bits.

If I create a network game on either side, when I click "connect" on the other side the game dies with this error :

Code: [Select]
thierrybo@thierrybo-desktop:~$ glest
Couldn't process event: Error connecting socket (Error: Operation now in progress)
Exception: Server and client versions do not match (v3.2.1 - Mar  1 2009 - 22:04:46). You have to use the same binaries.
thierrybo@thierrybo-desktop:~$

I had not that problem when I used 3.1.2 version from Ubuntu repositories. I hope you can connect between a 64 bit game and 32 bit as far as the version maches.

I know that it's possible to do 64-32 bit play. I kind of forgot...

I think that the 64 bit player has to download 32 bit binaries.

I would like to, but I can't install the i386 deb package on a 64 bit OS, "Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'".
