Hello, I'm new and really would like to create a mod for Glest

Hello, i'm Dor, and i just joined this awesome game about a week ago.
once i found out you could make mods for it, i really wanted to make my own.
i looked into it for a while and tried to create my own, but it is REALLY hard.
does anybody have any tutorials for newbies they could share please?

I don't think there are any tutorials on making techs.
But there is tutorials on .XML and models.

Mostly it seems like people need modelers. I don't know how to model but I hope to learn how over the summer so I can contribute to some of these mods.
I also have a lot of good ideas but I think I should learn JavaScript before XML because I have this basically untouched book on JavaScript.
By the way guys, how do you make mod suggestions?

i learned it by simply changing it and looking at patterns in it
