Is is possible to have a unit die and have his death take away resorces?

I was a resorce called population. When you build a unit, it gives one pop, when he dies you lose one pop. Is that possible?

Hello; in the tech faction the livestock produces the food resource, but this food is produced continuously and is stored in the farms and the castle; you can do a unit who produces and stores the resource, by this way when the unit die, you lose the resouce too.

There is a much easier way.

Static resources, like energy in the Magic faction, work exactly like that. When you build a mana source you get energy, when the mana source is destroyed you lose the energy.

I think Trasher meant this resource like a population cap, like in Warcraft.
You have a max pop cap of 50, so if you build to many units (swordsman 1 food, dragon 5 food) and reach the max pop cap you can't build more units. Hope u get it. :)

PS: In Glest you can build limitless units, just have to build more farms,
cause there is no population cap.

To do that you can make a resource with a starting amount and no way of producing it.

Tech: Standard resources (like gold).

Tileset: Like Tech but the position of the resource is taken from a tileset object (like wood).

Static: A resource that is not harvested, some units create them when built, and others require them to be built (like energy).

Consumable: Some units produce them periodically and others require them periodically, it there are not enough resources units that require them will take damage until they die (like food).
