Well, what I mean is if you don't download it you have to pay the shipping cost for the CD/DVD.

Oh, I see.  That makes sense.  I really like free stuff!  I have free audio programs, image editing programs, modeling program, video playing program, free etc.

Wait, I didn't know there was such a thing as a non-free linux!  I always assumed that that kind of thing was a scam.  And I know my Vista is several GB because it came on a DVD.  Linux is 700-MB?  Sorry for all the questions I am an O.S. Noob.
There are some versions for the enterprise. Such as Suse and Redhat but they usually have a free equivalent.

I think the what you're paying for here is support, not the software.

Well, I 'll say anybody who makes something cool and only makes it for Windows is a jerk.
But if they don't know how to make it for other OS's then they should learn, or give it to someone who can make it runnable on other OS's.
I say they are a very kind and awesome person if they make it for other OS's including Windows.

Windows is ok man but all I am saying is that I cant play mods that were made windows like narhillin and forest men, on the other hand Linux is meant for free stuff and all my mods (That were made on Linux) work for every one.  and windows is slow buggy and just plain nasty ESPECIALLY VISTA PE YO if you are a programmer on try do do any thing advanced then you know what I mean.
so all in all Linux is best.

Wait, Nihirilian should work on linux.  The only reason I think that it would not work is that maybe the file extensions are capitallized, which, if you care that much and have the time, you could fix yourself.

The shell script works for all of the factions.  It just changes the text to lowercase.  And also, it's not my fault that you didn't like Nihirilian, OK?

I didn't say I didn't like it, and Titi script dose NOT work for Nihirilian.

I think that there is a certain degree of satisfaction and pride to knowing that one has "Hacked" (note I am using this term loosely) their OS.  I mean, it would make you 1.) feel all powerful, 2.) hate your previous OS, and 3.) find every reason to like your linux, (Or freebsd or other free OS's) and minimize on reasons why not to like it.  That third reason is why Linux users are so passionate about their OS.

Wait a minute, I may have missed something *Mark opens a new tab and re-views the topic only to realize he missed NOTHING* but I seem to recall you just having a conversation about how some mods don't work on your Linux... Sound familiar?  And since Glest is defined by, (not to mention pretty much pathetic without) its mods, that makes your Glest INferior.  Like my argument of reason?  I just read a book about Aristotle and his logic.  Heres a Syllogism I made up:

If all Marks are modders...
And if all modders are awesome...
All Marks are awesome.

 :D :D :D

I saw you making up that post about Glest being kin to Linux.  ;)

Cut it out, everyone. As I stated before:
Honestly speaking, the whole topic violates people's number 1 right. Choice. We cannot take people's choice away for things (with some exceptions, such as homosexuality, terrorism, abortion, spinach, etc;).
Yeah, I was kidding about spinach, but what makes you think I'm kidding about the rest of it. I'm not imparitial. Jeeze... :D

Honestly though. I don't think any of you guys have the RIGHT to be choosing other people's OS's. Just let them try and decide. It is for them to choose, not for you to mock (although I do see your point about wanting to murder Bill Gates, seeing he unleashed the world's biggest virus (IE).

Duo-Boot is the BEST. The ability to NOT have to choose between ONE OS, but as MANY AS YOUR HDD can hold (or as many as you can sanely tolerate [2 or 3]). Who agrees? ;)

Were not forcing anybody to do anything, so I don't see how anyone choice is being taken away.
They are simply becoming informed, and just because Linux is simply a better operating system than Windows doesn't mean you can't use Windows.

Don't want to start another flame war, Eliminator, but there right in my signature.

@Omega:  I wish my Hard Drive could hold multiple OS's.  Right now I only have 20/80 GB left.  I'd for sure get Linux and test it out.

If you just want to test it out, you can make a "live CD".  In case you don't know what that means, it's a CD that you can use to boot into Linux without installing anything on your hard drive.  It will run slower because it has to read everything from the CD instead of from your hard drive, but it's a great way of taking it for a "test drive", so to speak.  I tried live CDs of about five different distros before I found the one I wanted to install.  I'd recommend starting out with Ubuntu or one of its variants.

I just realized another great reason to have a copy of Linux on hand!  When your Windows system bites the dust, you can boot up Linux, find whatever is screwing it up, and delete it.

lol Yeah, well my computer came with Vista (I had no choice in the matter) and I've been using Windows since before most of the people on this forum were born (anybody remember Win3.1?  I do!), so it was a lot easier to just keep on using Windows.  I think those are really the two reasons why the vast majority of people use anything made by Microsoft: it's what came with their computers, and it's what they know best.
