Welcome to the home topic of the Glest Modding/Mapping Development team.

News:
New branch of this team is the Map Production Team.

WE ARE HAVING A COMPETITION WITH THE GLADE TEAM!
For the best mod of 2009.

Competition Rules: Must start a new faction from scratch.
                         Models cannot be retextured ones from other mods, everything else goes.
                         Must be completed by end of 2009!
                         Must be well balanced.
                         Must have good models, textures, and animation.
    --I believe that's all.

Fluff, Elim, we need to form a team structure, and assign responsibilities.

I agree with that and i love it , so team structure list what you are good at and we will assign? i'll start
Best: 3-d model , animations , xml and can do some pretty mean textures  ;D  

Edit: also what will be our first assignment? or mod?

I have an idea!  Since GLADE is focused on making new mods and there are a lot of people who want to see the original Magitech factions expanded, how about you guys do that?

Skills: XML(rather well, best at refining and improving)
        Modeling, although not very well, will try to improve some tonight(no texturing or animating)
        Can setup some good music.
        

@John: I guess we could do that after we win the competition.

Ok sweet i guess we just need elimantor , but so far i guess i'll 3-d model and animate and texture a lit , but for the most part model and animate , now i guess we have to think about a project to work on =)

Cavemen or Stickmen?

Cavemen would be tall muscled humans. I have plenty of ideas, I can do all the concepts for this.

Stickmen could have guns or ninja like weapons, but we have enough "Swords and Shields era" type stuff.

i think we should do something magitech related cause the glade team is also doing adding on to the magitech , so something like that era , but with a twist or something

i like the idea of creating , like the opposite for the dark magic , lets do something that opposes them to make a 4 raced techtree =P i'm open to ideas like maybe a paladin race like light verse dark and if we get this concept better then i will begin modeling =)

Let's see something that opposes dark magic: Can't think of anything good.

Well the original magic is a bit more evil than light, I mean they summon ghosts and daemons.

How about we just create a new faction like cavemen, because they would be very opposed to all magic and it would be a fun faction to make.

vote  i guess , but making an indivual units , with out a set of ppl such as humans , there isn't that much of a difference in the models , but for mythic creatures a great deal of change

Nah this is our team , if you don't like anyting we can change the name , you can have lead if you want it , but i would love to have a concept that i can get started with and like =)

I started a new topic because I kinda want to add polls and stuff and we don't know the name yet.
And by the way the only reason I didn't join the Glade team is because I don't like Magic and didn't want to work on it. And they took too long to get on to a different one so I made one of my own.

yea elminator is right i want somethign that we all want to do something awesome and so i don't get bored of it easily , but if you want to change the name thats cool , but i would really like to get somethign going =)

Hold on I'll wait for Eliminator to make the transition because I sent him some stuff over PM talking about the team.
He's the leader now I guess, and if Eliminator doesn't say no then I'm the leader of the Maps dev branch.

Interesting. I had been a way a while, so seeing that there was some kind of divide that had formed was kind of wierd. At least at first.

Now, however, I see a huge opportunity. I know that GMD and GLADE are having their little competition right now, but after that's said and done, there should be a collaboration!

GMD could make one faction. Glade could make their counter-faction! Like Tech and Magic! Or John.d's Sun and Moon! I mean, individual new factions are good, but connected rival factions are Very good.

A thought.
