The map x and y must be of:

32x32, 64x64 or 128x128, sometimes you can use other numbers but to be safe, use those, and that only applies to square maps... 256x256 aswell

The dimensions of the map must be 2n by 2m I believe.  But neither dimension should exceed 512, because Glest runs slow (at least on my computer).

Ok, to sum it all up, use these dimensions: Read the comments!
(x by Y)
  • 32 by 32(Not recommended)
  • 32 by 64
  • 32 by 128
  • 32 by 256
  • 32 by 512(Good for very long, and very skinny 1 vs 1 scenarios)
  • 64 by 32
  • 64 by 64(Smallest recommended)
  • 64 by 128
  • 64 by 256
  • 64 by 512
  • 128 by 32
  • 128 by 64
  • 128 by 128(Standard recommended for 4 players)
  • 128 by 256
  • 128 by 512
  • 256 by 32
  • 256 by 64
  • 256 by 128
  • 256 by 256(Recommended largest map map)
  • 256 by 512
  • 512 by 32
  • 512 by 64
  • 512 by 128
  • 512 by 256
  • 512 by 512(Don't ever go any larger than this, and do this size rarely as it can slow some peoples computers way down)

Ummm, I think that a 32 by 512 is pretty lame.  I mean other than for scenarios, why?

  • 512 by 512(Largest recommended)
I think that there is nothing to recommend about a 512 x 512.  That makes people's games run slow especially in battles.

Yes, I have been thinking about that, and I think that I will change it.
