Texture
« on: 24 September 2009, 14:24:17 »
Can someone texture this model for me, it's going to be birthday present for my dad, because his birthday is October 2nd.
All I need is a texture, and I'll animate it.

I've got it downloaded and am looking at it. What sort of texture are you looking for? Any particular color scheme, style needs or just have a go at it?

Everyone else: don't just assume that I've got it, lets have a contest of who can do the best texture on it!

Strong armor. :)
And a slight blue tint to the armor, it's his favorite color.

steel blue? Like so...

or more subtle?

Full plate I'm going to assume. That's what I'll stick with.

What about texture resolution? I noticed you've got a subsurf applied. Do you want a super-high res texture or something more like Glest-worthy?
Also, does the subsurf need to stay? I need to know for the unwrap.

Need any symbols or anything or just leave it clean for you to touch up if needed?

I just noticed the sword was a separate object. Texture it as well?

No symbols.
Oh I forgot to add a cape can you add a cape.

And the sword just join that to the model, I must have forgotten.

Go ahead Eliminator, think of it as a competition with Hectate.

I've uploaded what I've been able to start, with a (poorly done) render to get an idea. Anybody else is free to start up where I've left off - I don't know when I'll have more time for it. I redid the UV, and I used a 2048x2048 texture for it. I figured that if he was a hero, he needed plenty of pixels to show off. I never got the sword attached as part of the main object, but there's space on the UV for it. I did remove the subsurf. It was necessary to skin him properly. My work probably doesn't look good if you re-apply it, but you're welcome to use it as a start.

Could Hectate, or someone else, please finish up this texture, because the animations could take awhile.......

Why don't you use some of the models in the Weapons cache?  I think a better hero would have the small buckler and a sword, with an open basinet helmet, or a guy with no helmet and a giant Zweihander sword.

I prefer to make my own weapons, and I must add a few things, actually, so if you are texturing, please wait, as I will, fix my model up tonight
