I thought glest could only use .bmp for its buttons.

This topic is about Magitech's original icons/buttons, which were made by josepzin.
josepzin released these icons in a NON-standard .PNG format. This non standard format is one that Adobe uses in its Fireworks product. It is
based on the .PNG format but the standard .PNG format does NOT allow
layers (like GIMP layers...).
What people might be asking of josepzin was to get each layer into a separate
standard .PNG file.
Either that or they were just messing it all up.
Either way... the formats Glest game uses internally are NOT the issue.
