Blender model height help
« on: 6 October 2009, 08:02:39 »
So I am making my own mod (another one) and this time im going to design the models myself. One question, how big should I make them? I know they should be in low poly but I don't know the height I should use, and I don't want to end up having giants all over the place...

you can:

1- simply try it by building a model and see what it looks like in glest. If it doesn't fit simply resize it.
2- load an existing blend file from someone else
3- import an existing .g3d

I would prefer 1
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

2 is actually about the easiest, there are models freely available across the forum in multiple locations

Just look for the ones with the ".obj" extension.  You can import them into Blender.

Or, you could import a file from magitech.  That is what I do.  I have used the swordman model so much for that that I have saved it on the desktop.
