Glest source code released
« on: 20 January 2005, 18:02:45 »
We have finally released Glest source code, under GPL license. You can download it from the Glest sourceforge site: https://sourceforge.net/projects/glest/

I will soon post compilation instructions in this forum. If you have any source code or modding related question this is also the place to ask.

I also renamed this version v1.0.10 (the one with the source), due to some internal changes in the code, but there is no new functionality.

This might be a really stupid question, but is the 'Glest Source Code' available in every download? Meaning if I have Glest 3.1.2 do I also have the  'Source Code'?

And is it written in C++?

And is the Source Code modifiable?

And what would I use to modify it if it was modifiable?

The Glest Source Code isn't available in the standard download. You have to download it separately.

It is written in C++ (the best programming language :))

It is modifiable

To modify it, you would use any text editor or C++ editor. This could range from Microsoft Visual C++ to Notepad.

You've been a great help! Just got Microsoft Visual C++, will begin tutorials tomorrow, still unsure as to the link/download location of the source, but I imagine it's on this site or the "glest.org" site somewhere... Probably under downloads, so I think I'll find it. Again, much thanks!

You have to go onto the sourceforge site for glest. In the downloads section, it's got the source somewhere.
