Linux is an OS, and so is Windows.........

PC does not mean Windows Computer.

No my other computers are perfectly fine, GAE is the problem.

I don't much care for the mobile buildings idea, but if you were going to do that, the tent-like buildings could be rolled up and tied to the back of an animal.  Small buildings could use an ox (aurochs?) while larger ones could be towed on a sled.  I'm surprised no one has mentioned guard dogs yet.  The domestication of the wolf was one of the biggest and most important developments for early mankind

True, but really, i think caveman hadn't even learned to use wolves as pets

... or anyone else's. ;D

Haha funny...

How about the defensive tall strong man can summon them, since he can die kind of easily, the guard dogs would be his "support units". :)

Yes a strong man who dies easily and summons dogs XD..don't think that will work for Ice agers.

Rolled up? Or we can have a this unit that carries a bunch of supplies on it's back and walks around, with this option for making building from the supplies on it's back. Example-This Ox with supplies tied up and a Ice ager walking beside it. If you want to produce a building, click on the build option and press a building available. Then an animation with the caveman building it, and after he's done you get a building. A non mobile building but a unit that could make them. (Dangit forgot that the workers could do that too D:) Maybe we could improve it by giving the Ox an attack that the workers can't do?

We will need an icon artist if anyone is good at them.
I'm not that good at images, but I can do a good job anyway.

I already have a good icon base, will post image soon.

Icon Base:

The following images will not be available until the release of this mod.

Progress:
Stop: Done
Move: Done
Spear Attack: Done
Hold Position: Done
Build: WIP
Repair: WIP
Mine: Done
Chop Wood: Done
What else do I need to do, can't think of anything else.....besides the units icons, which somebody else can do, because I suck at making those.

i think that for the buildpics, they should be in the form of cave drawings.

the spear-thrower's pic would be a stick guy tossing a spear, etc

i think it should be cave-drawings cuz it would fit them better (no offense to what you have made...)

if you want to go with my idea instead (for any reason), i will try my hand at making buildpics

I was going to mention this on the moon mod but forgot. The icon image reminded me, and it applies here as well so..

Keep in mind that, while a matching theme is good, icons that rely heavily on colors also used by a intended tileset (such as blues and white for snow/ice) will be difficult to see. Don't camoflague your icons! An animal hide icon base would also be appropriate and also easily visible.

Just my 2 cents.

I think Ice is good but that ice you did archmage looked liked clouds to me O_O Also the move action and stop action looks rushed. If you can provide a base for the icon, I am able to design the arrows and stuff correctly

Sure, but I wanted to make the icons high quality just like the ones in magitech. Other factions made by users have crap icons no offense and look like they have been drawn in paint...

Alright:  A lot of stuff to address.

First of all, about how the pack up idea for buildings:  Great idea, and I especially like the idea of an auroch doing it.  I think that both that and the wild dogs should require an upgrade called 'domestication'.  And Arch, if you don't want to do the XMLs, I will do them.  No problem.  And not to flame, but my XML work has recieved less negative postings, and I have a lot of experience, not to mention time, imagination, knowledge of history, and the ability to make static models with textures.  I really want to do packable buildings, because it is a good way for this weakling faction to get its edge.

About the images:  I don't like the first, but the second is betters.  I will look for a better one.  The thing is, you will need to add a border around the edge of the icon to improve visibility, and another border around the screenie of the unit because many will either be made of wood or consist of furs.  And don't worry, scenariole, what I do is I make a good background that will have lots of contrast, and take a screen of the unit in the G3D viewer, crop it to make the grey alpha, and resize it, and put it on the background. After that, I take the screenie and either add borders or change hue or contrast to make it visible in glest.  And the final step is to keep the old files with the original screenie and the background in case I need to redo, and then open up glest and play a couple games. If I like the image, I am happy, if not, I redo it.  And about the cave drawing stuff, ice age people never made lots of cave drawings.

If someone wants, I can do a lot of XML for this faction.  Just give me exact specifications.  I may make another version that has changes that I like, but I will make one exactly how you like it.  I did the whole Invaders's faction 'Colonists' XML work in one week.

you see, that's the point, if these guys were cavemen, they didnt draw elaborate pictures. That's why it looks like paint quality (it was Gimp by the way)
