When did I say I wouldn't do XML?? I don't recall saying that.
I thought that you said something like 'no, we are not having packed up stuff'. I could either have been mistaken entirely, meant someone else rather than you, taken hint from lack of evidence, or you removed it. Whatever happened, I apologize for any hard feelings it may have caused. But I am genuinely okay with doing that part of XML for you if you want.
Scenariole, I really support Zoythrus's idea of having cavemen drawings instead of pics, it goes a lot with the theme, and it's something new that hasn't been done.
That is, I agree, a unique idea. But, it may look really lame, and especially so if you make it 'stick' drawings. I fully support the idea if it will have filled objects, not lined objects, but I am really against line drawings, because like in dwarves, they are confusing and hard to learn. So line drawings yes, and on the dark brown texture for the background.
Do I have to make the border or what?
Yes, but when you make the icon background template, make sure it is in there. It should be one pixel of black or white, depending on which icon background we decide on (to give good contrast). I don't really like the idea of white, because then we couldn't do cave drawings. So what if not all people in the ice ages lived in caves? Plenty of people lived in earth structures rather like caves. And no other theme is as close.
Have a man sitting in front of a campfire with a hammer and stone, and maybe some other useful materials they had back then......
I have an idea: How about a guy in the big fur coat we talked about before, sitting on top of a rock inside a crude lean-to tent, with some old branches and knapped knife-heads and stones all around him? This would be very cool, easy to model and would fit inside 3 or even 2 tiles.
